State agency created by the legislature in 1979 Charged with the responsibility for coordinating water and related land resources planning for the state Manages grant and loan funds for the construction of water supply, storage and transmission projects.

Application Driven Process Due August 15 th for new projects Due October 1 st for continuing projects $1000 filing fee for all new applications No fee for continuing projects Planning projects are 100% grant Conducted by a consultant Managed by the WWDO Project Manager Consultants selected in May

Applications were received last fall from the following Improvement and Service Districts in the Gillette Area. Antelope Valley Bennor Estates Freedom Hills Peoples South Fork Estates

The five applications were grouped into two projects, as follows. Gillette Regional Connections 1 Project Antelope Valley Bennor Estates Gillette Regional Connections 2 Project Freedom Hills Peoples South Fork Estates

Consultant Selection was held for the Connections 1 and 2 projects on May 9 th and 10 th. Gillette Regional Connections 1 EnTech Inc. From Sheridan Dave Engels, PE is the Project Manager Weston, Tetra Tech, West Plains Engineering as Subconsultants

Gillette Regional Connections 2 WLC Project Managed from Casper Office, data gathered by local staff. Shane Porter, PE is the Project Manager Weston will be their groundwater subconsultant

Scoping Meetings Data Collection and Analysis Report Preparation Level III Project Applications Seek a Construction Appropriation Begin Project Construction

The Construction Division administers projects that have advanced through the planning phases, and are authorized for construction by the legislature. The WWDC program criteria allows for a 67% grant and a 33% loan or sponsor match. Loans are typically for 20-30 years (but can be longer), at an interest rate of 4%.
