Dinner Meal: Beef Stew Members who had their Dues paid-up received a free dinner tonight. 4. Member & Guest Attendance: (Hall Occupancy: 187 / Bar Occupancy: 58) 113 Members in attendance (See Attachment) 11 Guests in attendance (See Attachment) The Guests were announced by President Glen Slay. Membership Quorum is 1/5 of the current 402 General Membership. The Required Quorum of 80 was reached (Yes or No): Yes 5. Communications (See Attachments): Bruce Kobara congratulated Glen Slay as the new club president for 2016-2017. Treasurer s Report: Tom Wiley report for January 2016: Expenses: Deposits: End of Month Checking: $3,280 Bank Savings: $29,292 Morgan Stanley: $194,224 Big Expenses: $2,894.45 for a 49 Cubic Foot T-49 industrial refrigerator. Purchased on January 21. 10. Venture Crew Mission Statement: Joe Yetter (PVRGC Chapter # 568): The Crew is open to male and female youths, ages 14 to 21. Meetings are held on the 2 nd and 4 th Wednesday of each month at the Club Range at 6:30 p.m., which mainly involve shooting. There are currently 19 active youths. As part of safety training for new youth, The Crew frequently runs NRA Basic Pistol and Rifle safety training courses. Venture Crew Report: Joe Yetter (See Attachment): Randy Turnquist announced in Joe s absence. Scheduled Outings: January: The Panoche Hills outing was rescheduled because of bad weather. A smaller group of us went to Field Sports Park in San Jose instead. January: A few of our instructors assisted with a troop shoot at the Sunnyvale Rod and Gun club the last two evenings. There were 24 scouts and 24 parents who attended a four 2 hour sessions, and 8 scouts completed the Rifle Shooting merit badge qualifications. We had expect 30 boy Scouts from a troop in Los Altos. February: We will be planning to go to Panoche Hills and invite a Boy Scout troop of 30 or more scouts from Hollister to join us. We will be shooting a 22 rifle, shotgun, and a high powered rifle. The scouts will clean up the range after use, and they will camp there for the weekend. 11. Shooters Association Report: Range Master John Maraldo: No Report - John was absent. Regarding Shooter Membership: The range is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The range dues have been eliminated in 2014, and you must have a range orientation class before you can shoot at the range. Fishing Association Report: Nelson Gong (See Attachment): The Bass Tournament will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Starting time is at 8:00 a.m. / Weigh-In time is at 1:00 p.m. Bass Tournament Guests: If a member brings a guest to a Bass tournament, it counts as a stamped visit towards the guest s membership application to join the club. The club Secretary needs to be notified by the Organizing Bass Tournament Representative in order for the guests to receive their visitation stamp.
14. OLD BUSINESS: Wayne Proechel announced we need to know what s going on at the club. Wayne wanted to create a new category for the meeting agenda called Maintenance Report to inform the membership where and how our club money is going towards work activities. Glen Slay told Wayne that we already have an agenda category for this called Work Party. Rodger Silva announced the Valentine Dance is on Saturday, February 13. Tickets are $25 each in advance, and $30 at the door. Bob Leonardich asked to have the hat passed for donations towards the Youth Raffle for the up coming NRA fundraiser dinner on March 19. Bob collected $326 in donations. 15. NEW BUSINESS: Steve Walker announced a couple of years ago, our club had collected $750 for the kids fishing derby prizes at Pinto Lake. Since the fishing at Pinto Lake had been put on hold regarding the water issues, Steve suggested to the Board to give the $750 to our sponsored Venture Crew. Glen Slay told Steve that the Board will bring up his proposal at the Tuesday Board meeting. Bob Hampson announced to the membership that the next NRA fundraiser dinner and raffle will be held at the PVRGC on March 19. The tickets are half sold out and still available. Bob said the NRA had given out $421,000 in grants last year, and Joe Yetter s Venture Crew had received a $7,000 grant to provide his group with target shooting rifles and supplies. 16.
