HOME SCHOOL MEETING There will be a Home & School meeting on Wednesday, May 2 nd at 6:30pm in the gym. All parents are welcome. New board members will be presented. Events for next year will be announced. SPEAKER BOB BARNES All parents are invited and encouraged to come and listen to Bob Barnes on Wednesday, May 2 nd at 7:00pm in the Gym. He will be speaking for an hour on how to raise children to take responsibility for themselves and to be tomorrow s leaders not followers. In the past, this has been open to 8th grade parents only. However, his message is so powerful and practical that parents generally leave feeling relieved that they didn't miss it; and wishing more parents could hear it. So we have opened it up to the whole school this year. Due to the topics to be discussed, we are asking that children not attend. No babysitting will be available. SAVE THE DATE - JUNIOR HIGH ARTS SHOWCASE AND STREAM EDUCAMP All parents are invited to join us on Thursday, May 10 th from 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for a morning of STREAM and the Arts. The day will begin with a light breakfast followed by performing arts presentations in the gym. After the performances, circulate the campus to view STREAM and Arts based projects. You, the parents, will then become the students by selecting a STREAM educamp to attend... the Junior High students will be the facilitators of these workshops! More information and sign up coming soon. MAY PROCESSION AND CROWNING CEREMONY A long time tradition in May in Saint Anthony Catholic School has been to recognize the Blessed Mother in the Crowning of her statue in the Church. Mary holds a special place in Our Lord's plan for us. We reverence and respect her motherhood. We go to her as we might go to our own mother with needs and concerns. She can comfort us and go with us to her Son, Jesus. We never worship her. We worship only God. We praise her for her YES to Gabriel to become the mother of the Savior! Her YES can help us say YES when we are asked to step out in faith. Everyone is invited to come celebrate on Friday, May 4 th during the 8:15 a.m. Mass. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Classes are held on Sunday morning 10:15 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. in the school. For more information contact Patricia Solenski, D.R.E., at 954-467-7749 religioused@stanthonyftl.org RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS Patricia Solenski, D.R.E. 954-467-7749 This tradition will take place Saturday, May 19 th in the school cafeteria. Our 8 th grade students and parents have been working diligently to make this year s dinner extra special. Lots of good food and drink for everyone! Don t miss this special time with our soon to be alumni. Cheers to the Class of 2018! More information to follow next weekend.
