INTRODUCTION The National Aviary is excited to once again play host to local, regional, and national artists. This juried exhibition and marketplace will be held at the National Aviary from November 2 4, 2018. The Jury will accept approximately 40 artists. At least 75% of the work exhibited must be centered on wildlife and nature. There will be an opening soiree and a 2 day public show to follow. As a nonprofit, proceeds from opening soirée ticket sales, auctions, and admission during the 2 day show will go to support the National Aviary. Artists will keep 100% of revenue from sales of their art. The National Aviary will not take commission of art sales revenue at any point during the weekend. Opening Soirée and Benefit November 2, 2018 The National Aviary will hold an Opening Soirée and Benefit Auction. This is a ticketed fundraiser for approximately 150 VIP guests. Artists are required to exhibit and have their artwork available for sale at the soirée. Public Art Show and Marketplace November 3 & 4, 2018 Approximately 2,000 people will attend and be able to purchase your art during the 2 day public show and marketplace. Admission to the art show is included in general aviary admission. The crowd is broad with a mix of art enthusiasts, collectors, families, and couples. Fees There is a $20.00 non refundable application fee. Applications should be sent electronically (preferred) or via mail by April 30, 2018 at 11:59 pm EST. The fee is payable online via PayPal at www.aviary.org/artshow or via check made out to the National Aviary. Mail the check to National Aviary, Wings & Wildlife Art Show, 700 Arch Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Write Art Show in the memo section to credit your account properly. If accepted, booth fees are an additional $135 for 4 x7, $175 for 4 x10, or $275 f0r 10 x10. Submission Deadline Artists must submit a completed application and 3 images of their art to artshow@aviary.org, and a $20 application fee via PayPal at www.aviary.org/artshow or check by April 30, 2018 11:59 pm EST. Image Submission Submit only 3 images for consideration by the jury. Images must be representative of the art you plan to exhibit at the show, but do not have to be of specific pieces you plan to exhibit. These images alone are what the judges will have to make their decision. Please include a title, brief description and price point with each image. The Jury A 5 7 member jury will review all applications. Jury members consist of art experts, other artists, and National Aviary representatives. They serve on a volunteer basis and are not compensated for their work on the jury. 2018 Wings & Wildlife Art Show Application Page 1

Commitment and Requirements Artists are required to load in by mid day on November 2, 2018, exhibit during the soirée on November 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm 10:00 pm, and exhibit during operating hours on November 3 and 4, 2018 from at least 10:00 am 5:00 pm. Sales are the sole responsibility of the artist or their representative. APPLICATION PORTION Required: Completed application form in its entirety ONLY 3 quality images representative of your work. Images should be at least 1000 pixels on one side but not to exceed 2 MB per image. NOTE: The images are what your work will be judged by. Please choose carefully. We accept only digital submissions emailed to artshow@aviary.org. Please include a description and price point with each image. Non refundable application fee of $20.00 via PayPal at www.aviary.org/artshow. If paying by check, make payable to National Aviary (write Art Show in the memo section) Recommended: Artist Biography Deadlines and Notification Applications and application fee must be received by April 30, 2018 11:59 pm EST. Applications received after this date will be placed on a waiting list for optional review based on jury selections. Applications will not be reviewed without payment. The jury will meet in May 2018 and notification of acceptance will be sent by the end of May 2018. If accepted, cancellations before October 1, 2018 will receive a refund of booth fee only (minus a $25 fee). Beginning October 1, 2018, no refunds will be given. Artist Statement and Bio Artist Statement: Please limit to 75 words. This should be a paragraph about you and your career as a practitioner. It may also contain a line about the key themes to your practice. This will be included for review by the jurors and in the event program. Parking, Load in, and Breakdown Load in will take place the morning of Friday, November 2, 2018. Parking during load in is available in the National Aviary parking lot. Artist parking during the Friday evening soirée will be available in a private lot within a short walk. Breakdown will take place directly following the Aviary closing to the public on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Parking for breakdown will be available in the National Aviary lot and on Arch Street. Wireless Internet and Sales WiFi will be available on a private network made available to artists exhibiting at the show only. This will be a temporary network set up for the convenience of sales. The National Aviary will not assist in selling your art work, nor will take a commission from your sales. Application Deadline and Payment Applications for the Wings & Wildlife Art Show must be received by April 30, 2018 11:59 pm EST. Email the completed application along with your images to artshow@aviary.org. Call Laura Daversa at (412)258 9430 for assistance. A non refundable $20.00 application fee should be paid at the same time as the application submission. This may be done via PayPal online at www.aviary.org/artshow or via mailed check payable to National Aviary (please write art show in the memo section). Applications will not be considered for review until the $20.00 fee is received. If accepted to the show, full payment of booth fee will be due by June 30, 2018. Sending this application does not ensure a spot in the show.
