I ntroduction Advancing humanity for technology. These words have been the pillars for the rise of technology and innovation initiatives under the world-wide network of our professional, non-profit organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the vibes have now entered India. Spearheaded by the IEEE India Council and hosted by IEEE Madras Section, the All India Student Congress 2013, brought together young IEEE student and professional members for a series of interacting and networking opportunities, launched at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. Keeping this in mind, the Organizing Committee of the IEEE AISC 2013 brought forth an array of thought-provoking talks and interactive sessions to cater to the all round development of an IEEE Student Member - i.e. in technical knowledge, leadership, entrepreneurship, life skills and so on, through this year's congress. 330 select student delegates from 80 institutions across the country spanning over 8 states were selected to attend this invite-only event. The fourth day catered to the raising of awareness and involvement into the two key IEEE societies namely, IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Power and Energy Society. The main IEEE Society event is the Innovative Projects Showcase where 33 projects have been short-listed from numerous submissions across the nation. Spanning over three days, the congress promised to be an informative and engaging experience for all its attendees. The first three days elucidated the various dimensions of IEEE and its host of functionalities, along with a number of leadership and professional events. This included talks from some of the top brass in the IEEE, such as Dr. M. Ponnavaiko, Chairman, IEEE India Council, Mr. Harish Mysore, Director, IEEE India Operations, Dr. Preethi Bajaj, Vice-Chair, IEEE India Council Student Activities Committee, Mr. T.S.
