Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 400+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist to be part of a 7-member cardiology practice in Nampa. Currently the group consists of three Interventional Cardiologists, three Invasive Cardiologists and a Nurse Practitioner. The Nampa practice is part of a larger, employed and integrated 15 member Cardiology team reaching across the health system. Cardiologists participate with hospital administration in managing the cardiovascular service line collaboratively. SAMG, with primary and specialty care providers at 74 clinic locations, is also a member of the Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance, a network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers. The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute is an outstanding comprehensive cardiovascular program with many other differentiating services which include an accredited Chest
Pain center, a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program, a CVOR that operated on over 400 patients last year, a CV Research program, advanced EP lab with Stereotaxis robotics, and a Women s Heart Care Program. The primary location for this opportunity is the Garrity campus of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center, Nampa. Visits to outreach clinics one to two times per month may be required at other health system sites within 2 hours drive time of Boise, Idaho. The schedule for this program is primarily a traditional weekday schedule with call shared equitably with other Interventional Cardiologists. The call is currently 1:4 with the opportunity for paid excess call coverage. Requirements include Board Certification either through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Diseases OR the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology (or obtain such certifications within 3 years of employment), a strong cardiovascular disease background with excellent Fellowship and Residency training as well as a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group. In providing this support in a multi-disciplinary and collegial fashion, the Cardiologist will obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System s heart care programs across all communities we serve. This opportunity also requires granting of privileges at SARMC and other system hospitals to include Stents, IVUS, Interventional left and right heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms, holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing & supervision, stress echos, and pacemaker implantations and checks. Nuclear cardiology skills and Echocardiography board certification are welcome but not required. Interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is also available. SAMG currently utilizes McKesson Horizon Cardiology CPACS, Cerner PowerChart. Ambulatory EMR and eclinical Works which is transitioning to Athena; therefore experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferred. The cardiac Cath lab at Saint Alphonsus Heart Center in Nampa is a multidisciplinary department staffed with board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology technologists and cardiovascular technologists. All clinical staff are ACLS certified and many have additional cardiovascular certifications. Collocated with the Cath Lab is a 10-bed Cardiac Medical Unit, a Cath prep & recovery unit, nuclear medicine, echo, and EKG diagnostics. The lab provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with coronary artery disease, pulmonary hypertension, valvular heart disease and peripheral vascular disease.
