Dress Code Requirements Students are to wear only caps and gowns approved by CHS administration. Graduation attire is to be worn as it is designed to be worn (caps on top of the head, robes zipped, etc). Family Information Cabot High School is very proud of their graduation ceremonies. We have worked hard to give the ceremony an air of dignity and elegance. We ask that as a courtesy to your senior and to the parents, family, and friends of the rest of the class of 2018 you refrain from yelling for your senior or using horns and cowbells at the ceremony. This not only distracts from the ceremony, but also prevents family members of other seniors from hearing their son/daughter s name when it is called. We appreciate your help in this matter. Nothing other than school-issued stoles, cords, and medallions are to be worn with caps and gowns. Student Attire In addition to caps and gowns, graduates will wear clothes suitable for this dignified occasion. Appropriate attire is expected. To conform to the dress code, the recommended apparel is as follows: Girls Dress, skirt, or dress pants and blouse, dress shoes (black, navy, white, or beige are all acceptable colors). If wearing a dress or skirt, please make sure that it is no longer than the hem of your graduation gown. If wearing dress pants please choose a dark solid color (black or navy). Avoid high collared dresses or blouses that would show above the collar of the gown. Guys White shirt, dark slacks, dark tie, black or brown shoes and socks Prohibited Dress Items athletic shoes, flip-flops, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, athletic apparel, decorated caps or gowns, sunglasses, blinking shoes, etc. Girls will NOT wear the white collar included in their gown package. If you would like assistance in acquiring appropriate attire for graduation, please see Mrs. Beason or your counselor. SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS Verizon Arena has handicap accessible parking and seating. A map will be included in your packet at practice to help plan for your family and friends. If any member of your family will require an interpreter for the hearing impaired, please let Mrs. Beason know as soon as possible. Pictures/DVD A photographer will take a picture of each graduate receiving his/her diploma and a fun picture as each graduate exits the stage. CHTV will be recording the video of graduation ceremony.
