WELCOME TO ISSSI 2018 It is a pleasure to welcome you to participate in 18th International Symposium on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections (ISSSI 2018), which will be held 23-26 August 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Staphylococcus aureus is a commensal bacterium causing a variety of localized and invasive infections. Due to its profound ability to acquire resistance to clinically relevant antibiotics, S. aureus remains a major clinical challenge worldwide. The International Symposium on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections (ISSSI) is held every 2 years, and is one of the most highly regarded cycling meetings that serve the staphylococcal community. The meeting brings together outstanding investigators and clinicians in the Staphylococcal field forming a platform for interaction between basic science and translational research. The 18th ISSSI meeting will be hosted by the Statens Serum Institute and the University of Copenhagen and will take place in the Maersk Tower providing state-of-the-art symposium facilities. The meeting's program will cover a diverse range of subjects on staphylococcal research including disease management, pathogenesis, immune evasion, colonization, and evolution. In addition, proffered oral and poster sessions will be an integral part of the program and all delegates are invited to submit abstracts. We aim to welcome 500-600 participants from at least 40 countries. We welcome industry to participate in integrated symposia covering clinically relevant challenges and improvements in treatment/prevention, in diagnostics and in bioinformatics. Furthermore, a bioinformatics show case will be placed in the foyer area where industry and scientists will present advanced bioinformatic tools and programs as short repeated presentations. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION Terms of payment: 25 % of the total amount will be invoiced and is due 14 days after ordering. The remaining amount will be invoiced in March 2018. After 1 March 2018, all orders will be invoiced immediately upon ordering. All bookings must be made by e-mail sent to the Secretariat and must contain an invoice, address, PO number (if needed), and VAT number. See contact information below. Cancellation: Any cancellation of stand booking, symposia, or other reservations before 1 March 2018, will incur a cancellation fee of 25 % of the total cost of the reservation.
