Puroose. To provide guidance for the operation and maintenance of MCALF Bogue. 2. CanCellation, AirStaO 11014.SB. 3. Backaround a. The CNO designated Bogue Field a Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field in May 1963. It is not considered a separate activity but functions under the cognizance of MCAS Cherry Point. b. The Commanding General, MCAS Cherry Point, is the Commander of MCALF Bogue and exercises overall administrative control. The Commanding General, 2d MAW, exercises command of 2d MAW personnel utilizing MCALF Bogue and, as a tenant, exercises operational control over assigned facilities. c. The mission of MCALF Bogue is to provide expeditionary airfield support training for the 2d MAW and to provide a facility for the evaluation of expeditionary airfield equipment. d. The expeditionary environment will be preserved. No action will be taken to develop it into a complex other than that required to support training in an expeditionary environment. Services provided will be limited to those essential health, comfort, and maintenance services commensurate with its expeditionary environment. 4. Summary of Reyision. The major modifications to this Order are as follows: a. Paragraph 5c. The requirement to assign FAP personnel to FMD has been deleted. b. Paragraph Sc(?) The Facilities Maintenance Department no longer operates a Bogue Field Maintenance Branch. Trouble calls must be made to the FMD Work Reception Branch.
AirstaO 11014.5C 5. Action a. The Director of Facilities shall: (1) Operate and maintain facilities, streets and grounds, and public utilities in the garrison area. (2) Perform maintenance and repair of all numbered structures located at MCALF Bogue. (3) Account for Class I and Class II Military Real Property. b. The Fire Division Chief shall: (1) Provide technical assistance to tenant units in matters relati?g to structural fire prevention and structural fire fighting. (2) Perform facility fire inspections. (3) Perform fire extinguisher inspection, recharging, testing, and routine maintenance. (4) Provide training in fire fighting techniques for tenant unit personnel. c. The Camp ~~!\~~~esignated by the Commanding General, 2d MAW, shall: (1) Exercise command over 2d MAW units at MCALF Bogue. (2) Comply with current MCAS and 2d MAW orders concerning airfield operation and facilities acquisition, alteration, maintenance, repair, and operation. (3) Operate messing facilities and provide related food services in accordance with MCAS Cherry Point food services regulations. (3) Provide physical security. (4) Provide structural fire protection utilizing organic crash fire fighting assets. (5) Maintain runways, runway power cables and lights, and arresting gear. (6) Ensure that tenant units perform police in the area around a building or structure and those unnumbered structures such as fuel bladders and generators. The area around a building is defined as that area extending from the building or structure to a minimum of 50 feet, a woods line, or the center of a ditch line. 2

MCALF Bogue is an auxiliary airfield sited on 837 acres of government property located four miles east of Swansboro, North Carolina, on the Intra-coastal Waterway at latitude 34 41' North, longitude 77 02' West, or 14 NM southwest of Cherry Point. a. Air Operations Facilities (1) Runways (a) Runway 5/23 is 96'x4004', lighted, and surfaced with AM-2 aluminum matting. It is the primary runway for fixed wing operations. There are Fresnel" Lenses and M-21 arresting gear approximately 500 feet from each approach end. A carrier deck is painted at mid-field and is served by a Fresnel Lens, M-21 arresting gear, and an Automatic Carrier Landing System. Ground Controlled or Carrier Controlled Approaches are available to either approach end. (b) Runway 18/36 is 96'x1954', lighted, and surfaced with AM-2 aluminum matting. It is restricted to VSTOL or helicopter operations. (c) There are also two Confined Area Landing sites of AM-2 aluminum matting measuring 96'x96'. Both sites are for use of VSTOL aircraft. (2) There are parking facilities for approximately 30 medium helicopters or 30 fighter/attack aircraft. (3) JP5 is available through a Tactical Airfield Fuel Dispensing System that can provide single point or nozzle refueling for up to three aircraft at a time. (4) There are no maintenance, hangar, lubrication, or cryogenic facilities; these must be provided by the using unit. (5) Crash and rescue services are available during airfield operating hours. b. Personnel sueeqrt Facilities (1) J~~~~lJ~~e'~~;~r'1~;~Hlt~ are available to billet approximately 400 personnel in a field-like environment. (2) Messing facilities, though limited, can accommodate feeding up to 400 personnel per day with augmentation from a deployed unit and by staggering meal hours. 3

MCALF Bogue normal hours of operation are as published in the current edition of the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Supplement. b. The 2d MAW, as the primary user of MCALF Bogue, will have priority for scheduling. The Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3, is the scheduling activity for 2d MAW units. c. Requests for utilization of MCALF Bogue facilities by other services or units external to the 2d MAW, must be approved by the Commanding General, MCAS Cherry Point (Attn: Director of Operations), who wi~l coordinate such use with the Commanding General, 2d MAW. d. In those cases where other services or units utilize MCALF Bogue in support of 2d MAW sponsored exercises, the Commanding General, 2d MAW will coordinate such use with the Commanding General, MCAS Cherry Point. 8.
