BLUF AF Technology Horizons in development for a technology forecast Chief Scientist lead for SECAF/CSAF directed study AF STEM Roadmap: Bright Horizons in development to complement this forecast with the technical workforce required to advance AF dominance SEAC lead Bright Horizons Plan reaches across Functionals requires team effort A1 to develop Human Capital Strategic Plan annexing STEM Roadmap All of us concerned about: Military & civilian scientists, technologists, engineers & mathematicians There s a need for a technical knowledge base in all career fields Accessions, requirements, education, and utilization of the STEM workforce far beyond just acquisition NRC will provide a blueprint & recommendations to get us started on developing a STEM Roadmap the journey starts today! 2

STEM Definition Proposed Definition: The Air Force professionals having degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) who contribute to the Air Force s ability to translate technology into operational capability. 10
