Student Life Coalition Program Coordinator (Multiple positions available) The Student Life Coalition refers to a collaborative organization of the student fee-assessed entities of Student Union Board, Multicultural Programming, and Leadership Programming. Program coordinators should have flexible schedules that allow them to be available on nights and weekends when necessary. Job Responsibilities for all Coordinators Be an ambassador for the University, Student Union and Activities, and the Student Life Coalition. Complete a program proposal for each planned event for approval. All proposals should include learning outcomes and objectives that reflect the University s mission statement and core values (training provided). Produce, direct, and manage effective student programming alongside co-program Coordinator solely under the direction of Programming 101 (Programming guide), the Program Checklist, and office leadership. Present a committee update in PowerPoint and verbal format at each general meeting. Stating there is nothing to present is considered unacceptable. Information should be new and current each week. Appoint one Assistant Program Coordinator (student member) per event. Have him or her work closely and hands-on in the programming process. Recruit a student committee to assist with programs. With co-program Coordinator and committee, organize the distribution of event marketing materials such as flyers, posters, etc. as mandated by the office leadership. Evaluate each coordinated programs by completing the Program Evaluation no less than three business days following the scheduled event. Maintain an accurate file of event paperwork, such as budget and cost information, committee meeting notes, etc. that can be easily transferred to the following coordinator. Measure effectiveness of each program by collecting feedback from attendees, using an approved method (paper surveys, clickers, online surveys, etc.) Complete no less than 10 and no more than 12 office hours per week which includes any official business conducted outside the office. Perform other duties as necessary by office leadership or Student Union & Activities staff. Adhere to the guidelines specified in the Office & Staff Protocol presentation. President Business Management Coordinator Preside over all functions of the Student Life Coalition including running meetings, assisting with events, and Review Policies and Procedures with the Student Life Coalition Coordinators regularly Maintain and update a budget and expenditures list throughout the semester Oversee all Coordinators and see that policies and procedures are being followed by SLC staff and implemented properly Create Agenda for Staff Meeting and Facilitate Staff Meeting o Include: upcoming events, tasks, past event recap, and initiatives. o Create interactive and engaging portions such as Staff Shout-Outs, etc. Participate in all interviews regarding Student Life Coalition with The Contraband and other media outlets. Responsible for updating and maintaining semester calendars Verifying correct documents have been obtained prior to submitting to Advisor for approval Communicates with the Advisor regularly regarding group progress Review all office communication (email, voicemail, calls) and forward the correct information to the correct Coordinator Preferred Qualifications Previous membership on Student Life Coalition Staff
Vice President Membership Coordinator Maintain records of committee member office hours, committee member duty schedule, and meeting times for each committees. Communicate with each Coordinator on meeting agenda and minutes and keep record of meeting minutes Work with entire Student Life Coalition Staff to see what activities, events, and planning aspects that need volunteers o Get and schedule volunteers based on the needs of the SLC Staff. Assess event progress from committee heads Manage and administrate the Student Life Coalition Volunteer Facebook Page for active volunteer members. This page should be updated periodically with information on volunteer opportunities, special promos, and any general information for Volunteer members. Create initiatives to research current campus interests and trends Develop outreach plans to reach as many McNeese Students as possible Assist the President in overseeing that all policies and procedures are followed while planning events. Assist President in maintaining and updating the calendar and office communications. Act as head officer in the event of the President s absence.
Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Serve as the public relations contact for all things involving the marketing and branding of the Student Life Coalition and its events. Identify events and achievements that should get local media outlet attention and work with the PR and Marketing department to get press releases and media attention. Use appropriate and effective communication channels to share with Student Organizations upcoming Student Life Coalition Events, ways to be more involved with Student Life Coalition, and receive ideas for future programs/partnerships. o This should be completed at least once a week. (ie. Newsletter, video, email, etc) Work with the Student Life Coalition President to participate in all interviews regarding Student Life Coalition for The Contraband and other media outlets. Coordinate Student Life Coalition presence at organization fairs, other recruitment activities, and tabling set ups. o Create table set-ups and creative initiatives to engage perspective students. o Be responsible to put in table requests for upcoming events. Design and produce Student Life Coalition marketing materials such as flyers, posters, etc. as necessary and mandated by Student Life Coalition. o Work with the Marketing Department as needed for graphics and designs. o Get semester schedules designed and printed for the beginning of the semester. Work with the Program Coordinators to create a marketing plan for every Student Life Coalition. Chair the Public Relations and Marketing Committee and be responsible for effectively circulating Student Life Coalition marketing materials such as flyers, novelties, t-shirts, etc. as necessary and mandated. Manage a digital file of Student Life Coalition pictures from all events, activities, and meetings. The digital file should be easily accessible and backed up periodically. Update the Student Life Coalition bulletin boards regularly. Create Social Media Marketing plan and post to social media several times a week on various platforms.
Spirit & Traditions Coordinator Cultivates a sense of McNeese Spirit through planning SLC events Responsible for planning time-honored campus events. Works with program coordinators to create the event schedule for Homecoming Week and Spring Fling Week. Plan spirited events and work with various Departments, Offices, & Organizations to carry out traditions. Create new and fun events for the campus population. Create incentive initiatives to increase student participation at on campus events. Works with the Marketing Coordinator to keep a McNeese-centric marketing and social media presence as well as support McNeese Student Organization and Athletic events and individuals Assists the Marketing Coordinator with taking pictures and video during events o Keeps the media saved and backed up to the Google Drive Marketing & PR Coordinator to make sure the McNeese brand and appropriate logos are utilized.
Campus Life & Pop Culture Coordinator Plans programs that have an emphasis on novelty, comedy, and variety frequent events. Brings new and popular events and novelties to the McNeese Student Body. Use tableting events, surveys and focus groups to conduct market research. o Come up with innovative ways to conduct market research. Preforms market research on the student body to learn: o What programs work for the McNeese Student Body and which ones do not. o What programs and details bring students to events. o What programs students want brought to McNeese State University. Coordinate Student Life Coalition recruitment activities and tabling set-ups. o Create table set-ups and creative initiatives to engage perspective students. o Be responsible to put in table requests for upcoming events. o Use tabling and other initiatives to preform market research. Works to promote the Student Life Coalition on campus to increase visibility/reputation. Work with Program Coordinators to create event surveys and evaluate the effectiveness of an event.
Production & Design Coordinator Designs graphics for social media and marketing purposes Assists Marketing Coordinator in Plans programs with an emphasis on music. Makes sure Coordinators submit Venue Reservations correctly and follows up on reservations. Makes sure event set up forms are completed and turned in. Submits and picks up Tech Requests from the Student Union Office. Runs preprogram music at all student life coalition events. Researches any staging and production, DJ or artist, and technical needs for Student Life Coalition events. Works with any staging and production, DJ or artist, and technical vendors and businesses on the day of an event to set up and run the event. Heads the design and creation of the Student Life Coalition float for Homecoming.
Multicultural & Arts Coordinator Plans programs based on the mission of the Multicultural Programming Entity of Student Life Coalition. Works with the Multicultural Engagement Coordinator to cross plan events. Communicates with Student Organizations to assess interests for programs. Connects with various student organizations Communicates with the International Student Affairs Office about programs. Research and identify types of performers, novelties, and interactive events for programs. Works with the Marketing Coordinator to find marketing and advertising items. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for the student body at McNeese by researching programs and initiatives about diversity and inclusion.
Leadership & Innovation Coordinator Plans programs for the McNeese Student Body under the mission of the Leadership Programming Entity. Helps to create leadership initiatives and programs for the students at McNeese. Develops leadership initiatives for the Student Life Coalition Coordinators and Committee Members. Works with the Campus Life & Pop Culture Coordinator to create market research initiatives Creates new and innovative ways to learn about campus interests and trends.
