Drivers competing in the safety competition will receive 10 points for participating in a Collins tour. Competing drivers must sign in on the safety meeting roster that will be at the check-in table in order to receive their points. Over 13 million American kids will be bullied this year, making it the most common form of violence experienced by young people in the nation. The documentary film BULLY, directed by Sundance and Emmy-award winning filmmaker, Lee Hirsch, brings human scale to this startling statistic, offering an intimate, unflinching look at how bullying has touched five kids and their families. Pizza & Movie Night BULLY is a beautifully cinematic, character-driven documentary. At its heart are those with huge stakes in this issue whose stories each represent a different facet of America s bullying crisis. Filmed over the course of the 2009/2010 school year, BULLY opens a window into the pained and often endangered lives of bullied kids, revealing a problem that transcends geographic, racial, ethnic and economic borders. It documents the responses of teachers and administrators to aggressive behaviors that defy kids will be kids clichés, and it captures a growing movement among parents and youths to change how bullying is handled in schools, on school buses, in communities and in society as a whole. Run time: 1h 39m Pizza, soda, popcorn and other favorite movie snacks will be served beginning at 6pm followed by the featured presentation at 6:30 p.m. This event is for conference attendees only. Lodging Information One of the common comments on the post-conference evaluation is that you would like to see a conference hotel. Unfortunately, that is just not feasible when we don t have the entire conference under one roof. However, as school district employees, conference attendees may request the state government rate when making lodging reservations. The state government rate for the Hutchinson area is $93.00. You MUST request the government rate when making your reservation. Please know that most hotels have limited rooms available at this rate. We suggest making reservations for your hotel accommodations immediately. In the event hotel space at the government rate is not available, room blocks have been established at the following hotels: Comfort Inn & Suites - $89.99 (reservations must be made by 5/22) Hampton Inn & Suites - $109.99 (reservations must be made by 5/22) Holiday Inn Express - $119.00 (reservations must be made by 5/11) When making reservations in one of these room blocks, you must identify yourself as a KSPTA conference attendee to get this rate. You may be able to find other accommodations and rates by going to websites such as Trip Advisor, Priceline, com, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc. Camping at the fairgrounds is also an option. Spaces are first-come, first-serve. The rate is $30 per night and includes full hook-up.
