2016-2017 Willow Tree SSP PE and school sport support package Mark Needham (Partnership Manager) Willow Tree School Sport Partnership 2016-2017
As a school we have been able to greatly improve the quality of teaching of PE through implementing the REAL PE scheme of work. This has been made possible because of the training provided by the School Sports Partnership through attending REAL PE courses and supporting staff during PE lessons to deliver the REAL PE programme. Teachers have given feedback stating that they found the support given to them by the School Sports Partnership very useful as a guide to help them teach REAL PE. Teachers are now more confident when teaching this subject and have expressed how much more they enjoy delivering the lessons. There is now a clear structure to the teaching of PE and this is noticeable when observing PE taught throughout the school. PE Coordinator and Headteacher at Durdan s Park Thank you very much loads of ideas for all key stages good professional development, really appreciated the specific tips for FS2. Really clear explanation of how it all works but found hands on invaluable. Horsenden Primary school teacher Yes, [the pupils] had a great time and [at the Year 5/6 Basketball competition] and were really pleased to have won the Respect award. Christ the Saviour PE Coordinator The Willow Tree School Sport Partnership is a not for profit educational organisation and firmly committed to providing young people with the very best education in physical literacy and schools with the best support to provide all young people with the sporting opportunities to: 1. Develop lifelong participation and lead an healthy active lifestyle 2. Realise full potential and be the best they can be 3. Develop holistic life and learning skills which can be transferred to everything they do As an educational service provider that employs PE specialist teachers with QTS, we appreciate the flexibility required when working collaboratively with schools and have staff and delivery plans that are adaptable with school life. This supports our delivery to be integrated seamlessly into school development, for example by taking into account the need for supply and transport costs to be budgeted in calculating Sport premium spend. Since its inauguration in 2001, the partnership has been providing educational support to its schools and is managed by school leaders drawing on over 10 years experience of collaborative partnering in PE and sport. Our packages have been tested for viability and we have the capacity to deliver the packages including our PE and sports premium Gold top-up package (please refer to accompanying document) at the very highest performance levels to all schools. The 2016-2017 PE and school sport support packages for one form entry schools (Bronze) and two form entry and above (Silver) are included in this document. We are also able to offer schools that commit to the package with a PE and sports premium gold top-up for 2000. This top-up will further support schools in meeting all of the expected outcomes of the Sport Premium funding for young people. We are continuing to work with our partners at Create Development and will be able to offer a place on the 3 day real PE programme, delegate places on EYFS/ KS1real Gym and KS2 real Dance CPD modules or a delegate place on the Family FUNS family engagement programme.
