DATES and TIMES: DPW Base Wide Power Outage (10 Mar 2018, 0600-1800) Areas Affected by outage 1 Switch over of selected facilities to generator approx. 1000, 09 Mar 2018 (day prior (DP)) 2 Turn on other generators at 0500 on 10 Mar 2018 (day of operation (DOO) 3 Base Wide outage, 0600 1800, 10 Mar 2018 4 Return to shore power after restoration of power. Actions to Mitigate 1 Generators on MEVA facilities, Portable generators for selected facilities (see above). 2 Ice point at Tiefort View Intermediate School parking lot. 3 Disconnect/turn off unneeded equipment on Friday 6 Oct 2017. 1 Base wide power outage with the exception of facilities with generators. 2 Portable Generators planned for: AAFES: Bldg 310 - Post Theather, (DOO) Bldg 918 - PX, (DP) Bldg 979 - Popeyes/BK, (DOO) Bldg 34-24hr Shoppette/Gas Station, (DOO) DECA: Bldg 920 - Commissary, (DP) FMWR: Bldg 362 - Memorial Fitness, (DP) Bldg 905 - Bowling Alley, (DP) 916 th : Bldg 826 - Sustainment Ops Center, (DOO) Weather, Ice points, special meds, health equipment, special dietary needs. 1 Cooling facilities designated. 2 Leave freezer doors shut. 3 Ice pick-up from 0900-1400 at Tiefort View Intermediate School: 916th Unit and LRC to provide ice (cost of ice ~$300). 4 - Hospital will have generators and provide emergency support services. BOSS Activities and Initiatives Upcoming Events January 31 st BOSS will be hosting an annual training for all BOSS Representatives in the Garrison Conference room (Bldg. 237), from 0900-1600. We will be discussing the overall roles and responsibilities of the BOSS Program at all levels in an effort to further educate and sharpen our current representatives. BRD-5 February 1 st We will be hosting a trip to the Speed Vegas Racetrack in beautiful Las Vegas, NV. The top 10 Volunteers from 2017 will be recognized for their outstanding support, along with 10 additional Soldiers throughout the installation interested in driving top of the line sports cars. This trip will be COMPLETELY FREE to all Soldiers in attendance. We will be meeting in front of the Warrior Zone (Bldg. 361) at 0530, and leaving NLT 0600. Transportation is provided. (Volunteer hours will be given to those who possess a valid TMP License and volunteer to drive). COMP-1 February 6 th We will be hosting our next monthly BOSS meeting in the Garrison Conference room from 1300-1630. The Department of the Army BOSS Representative, SSG James Turner, Recreation Program Manager for IMCOM Readiness, Mr. Eric Hill, and the G9 Soldier and Community Recreation Program Leader, Mr. John Lavender will all be in attendance. In honor of African American History Month, the Post Library with be showing the movie "Hidden Figures". This movie tells the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. RSOI-4 February 17: Wine and Yoga, 6 8 p.m. Memorial Fitness is partnering with Sam Adams to bring Wine and Yoga. Wine will be served at the beginning of class, and will be available throughout.
