Greetings, Happy New Year! I hope that each of you that attended the New Year's Party had a good time and were able to welcome 2018 in an excellent way. I think it was a wonderful get-together with great music and wonderful company. I want to thank each one of you for your support and assistance with contributing the food and helping to make this party the fun that it was, it was truly appreciated! I am really excited about our events and activities for 2018, and I hope that you all get a chance to review our calendars and join us for them. Do not forget to renew your membership so you can get your new Blue Key card, we welcome your participation. I also wish to thank our new Legion Officers for stepping up to the plate in assisting us here at Post 148, your help and knowledge is certainly going to assist all of us all in making this year a great success. Again my sincerest thanks and hope to see you all at Home Post this year! For God and Country Lynnette Stokes Commander Alafia Post 148 Happy New Year! It is the beginning of a New Year and new things arrive. We are getting ready to celebrate Valentines with our loved ones or good friends. We have a Dinner and Dance that will be on February the 10 th. Please plan on attending, as it has a great menu. See the flyer. On Saturday, February 17 th is the 15 th District Past Commander/Past President Dinner & Auction. This is to raise funds for our Boys & Girls State transportation. Please try and come out to enjoy an evening and help support our youth. In March we begin with a 15th District meeting on Saturday, March 3 rd. The Legion will be meeting at Post 99 Brooksville, Auxiliary is to be TBA. When I know of the location I will be sure everyone gets the place. We have a bake sale on Sunday, March 4 th we look forward to our bakers who bake those delish sweets. On St. Patrick s Day the Post will be having something at the Post. Look forward to you being there. The week of March 18 th our Department President Treva Kay (TK) Wildrick and Commander Steve Shuga and Commander Bernie Wildrick will be visiting our 15 th District so keep your eyes open to see where and when there are events for them. There will be a Tea that is going to be held for Gold Star Mothers and Wives at Post 5 that TK will be attending. We look forward to seeing you all at this Tea to support those who have lost someone so preciuos. Remember we have a bake sale on February 4 th. We have our BINGO every Wednesday and on the 3 rd Thursday of each month we have our meeting. As a Legion Family we look to each other to help out those Veterans in need and those who have givin their all. For God and Country God Bless Georgia Mackenzie American Legion Auxiliary President

Greetings Fellow Riders As of this report the ALR Summit is behind us, and it will be reported on at the Feb meeting. Bring your Valentine to the Post for dinner and dancing on Feb.10. starting at 5:00pm. Feb 29 is the Riders dinner starting at 5:00pm. We will have Dragons famous Brisket with the trimmings. Bring the whole family. Daytona Bike Week is March 9-18, and there are no scheduled rides for those two weekends. Everyone that is going have a safe ride to and from Daytona and enjoy the festivities. March 3, 15th District meeting at Post 99 Brooksville. March 5 is the Riders meeting and first nominations for officers. March 17th St Patricks Day at the Post. March 31st is the Riders dinner starting at 5:00pm. We will have Dragons pulled pork and the fixins. We have a lot going on and as always need to show our support to the Post. We also need volunteers for the riders dinners. If anybody wants to make suggestions for future rides contact the Road Captain or the Director or you can write it down and drop off in the riders box at the Post.
