PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: August 7, 2017 POLICE BLOTTER Monday, July 31, 2017 2306 An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Upon noting the strong odor of marijuana, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Ultimately, marijuana, Alprazolam, cocaine and a Smith & Wesson handgun were located. Desmond J. Lindemuth (W/M/23) was arrested for felony and misdemeanor drug possession. The driver, Zachary D. Fuller (W/M/23) was arrested for felony and misdemeanor possession of drugs as well as carry concealed weapons. 2017-38578 0200 An officer was dispatched to meet with Beavercreek PD for a warrant field transfer. He arrested Alicia M. Albrektson (W/F/35) as she had multiple warrants. She was wanted through the Kettering Police Department for: FTC Theft; original charges for Obstructing Official Business; Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments and; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Due to her having medical issues, she was transported directly to the MCSO jail. 2017-13463 0441 An officer was dispatched to meet a Xenia PD officer for a warrant field transfer. He arrested Derrick W. Person (B/M/23) for FTA on an original charge of assault. 2016-47513 1550 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Dixie and Stockton for a registration violation. The driver, Stephanie J. Moody-Thomas (B/F/49) lied about her identity to avoid being charged with DUS. Moody-Thomas was issued a

summons for falsification and the related traffic offenses. The passenger, Anthony R. Moody (B/M/20) had an active warrant through Dayton PD for criminal trespass. Moody was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrant. 2017-38700 1601 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Smithville and Tabor for a moving violation. The passenger, Stephanie L. Gillum (W/F/28) initially lied about her identity because she thought she had a warrant. Gillum was found in possession of drug paraphernalia (empty capsules) and issued a summons. 2017-38706 2009 Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident (car into utility box) at Dixie and Dorothy. The driver, Tyler Hendrix (W/M/30) was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for OVI. He was transported to the Kettering Jail where he tested.170 BAC. 2017-38765 Tuesday, August 1, 2017 0946 An officer was dispatched to E. Dorothy Ln, near Delco Park Dr. on a Signal 10. Upon his arrival, he found that the driver of Unit 1, Lucas W. Terry, (w/m/32), was DUS. Terry was arrested and transported to the Kettering PD Jail. 2017-38863 1250 An officer responded to the area of Calvary Cemetery for a possibly intoxicated subject, locating him at Stockton and Dixie. Adam R. Franer (W/M/39) was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was placed under arrest. A search of his person revealed 8 tablets in his pocket, found to be Schedule II narcotics. Franer was transported to KPD jail where he was booked on Drug Possession, and issued a summons for Disorderly Conduct. 2017-38887 1147 Officers were dispatched to 3016 Locust Camp on a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they located Brandon L. Elyea, (w/m/29). Elyea was wanted by the Adult Parole Authority. Elyea was transported to the MCSO Jail.

He was also charged with Unauthorized Use of Credit Cards,(Theft). 2017-38882 1813 An officer stopped a vehicle at Tabor and Gay for speed. The driver gave consent to search his vehicle, and got out carrying a drink cup with a straw. A check of the contents of the cup revealed a plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine on top of the ice. Ronald J. VanHook (W/M/46) was placed under arrest and transported to KPD jail. 2017-38932 2205 An officer stopped a vehicle at Woodman and Patterson for a turn signal violation. The front seat passenger was found to have a warrant through Riverside PD for a family offense and, upon confirmation, Bradley A. Sievering (W/M/40) was placed under arrest and transported to KDP jail. 2017-38968 Wednesday, August 2, 2017 1600 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Ghent and Dorothy to discover the rear seat passenger, Rebecca K. Dillon (W/F/29) had a parole violation warrant through APA (original charge of burglary). Dillon was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrant for processing. Once at the MCSO Jail for housing, the staff refused to admit her due to a previous burn on her calf. Dillon was transported to MVH by medics for treatment and MVH staff will contact Dayton PD upon her release. 2017-39078 Thursday, August 3, 2017 0100 Officers conducted a traffic stop near the Relax Inn. Further investigation revealed the female driver; Karen S. Jenkins (W/F/56) had an active warrant for her arrest through West Carrollton PD. A K9 arrived and subsequently alerted to the vehicle. A search revealed suspected heroin/fentanyl. Brett D. Harris (W/M/52) was arrested for felony drug possession and possession of drug abuse instruments. Jenkins was arrested for felony drug possession. 2017-39168

0224 An officer conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. The driver, Gregory P. Montour (W/M/24) showed signs of impairment. He subsequently failed SFST s and was arrested for OVI. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana. He was issued a summons for possession of marijuana. He later refused a test of his breath. 2017-39190 1930 Officers were dispatched to 3440 Shroyer Rd., United Methodist Church, on a Morals complaint. Upon investigation, it was learned that Harold Rimblert III (B/M/33) had entered the woman s restroom and was attempting to view female victims under the stalls in the restroom. Rimblert was arrested on 2 counts of Voyeurism. He was transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-39290 Friday, August 4, 2017 2330 Officers were dispatched to 3339 Pobst on a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, it was found that a husband and wife had a heated argument, during which they assaulted each other. Andrew D. Grove (W/M/31) & Michelle D. Luzio (W/F/30) were both arrested for Domestic Violence without incident. 2017-39333 0925 Officers were dispatched to Oak Park, Malcom Dr., on the report of two people doing drugs. Upon the officer s arrival, the two subjects left the scene. They were located a short time later. The male, Nathan Schwarck, (w/m/18), and the female, Samantha Gibson, (w/f/17), were detained. Schwarck was found to have a warrant for his arrest from MCJDC, so he was handcuffed and placed in the back of the cruiser. He had already apparently chewed up four pills, but could not swallow them due to lack of moisture in his mouth. A KFD medic was called, and he was taken to KMH. Both lied about their identities. Gibson was arrested for Obstructing and Disorderly Conduct. She was transported to KPD where she was released to her mother. Schwarck was arrested for the warrant and for Obstructing and Resisting Arrest. 20217-39295 1543 An officer located Nabil Benhellal (W/M/33) in the parking lot of 3925 Parliament Pl. Benhellal had three active warrants for his arrest through Kettering for DV, DV by Threats, and Menacing. The warrants were confirmed and he was taken into custody and transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-38121

1708 Officers were dispatched to the area of 14 Civic Pl. on the report of a disturbance. An officer stopped a vehicle related to the incident. Michael S. Foor (W/M/26) was found to be driving the vehicle and under an OVI suspension. He was arrested on the suspension and transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-39464 2111 An officer conducted a traffic stop near 1818 Woodman Dr. (Fricker s) for an equipment violation. He discovered that the driver, Samone B. Hunter (B/F/26), had a warrant for her arrest through Huber Heights for DUS. The warrant was confirmed and Hunter was transported to KPD Jail without incident. 2017-39511 Saturday, August 5, 2017 2215 4 th and 1 st Watch Officers joined up with 3 rd Watch Officers to assist multiple jurisdictions in a search for Randy L. Sellars Jr. (W/M/30). Sellars was wanted for several burglaries, a robbery, auto theft and other associated charges across several jurisdictions. They were able locate him in the area of Hilton and Melrose. A K9 was deployed in the woods, and shortly after, perimeter officers observed Sellars running from the woods back into the plat. After a lengthy track, Sellars was located hiding under a deck in the back yard of 1281 Southlyn. Moraine took him into custody and new charges through Kettering are being prepared. 2017-39526 0239 Officers were dispatched to McDonalds (2901 Wilmington Pike) on a reckless driver in the lot. The vehicle was stopped as it left McDonalds and the driver, Steven M. Clark (W/M/32), was found to be under an OVI Suspension and was arrested. 2017-39538 0444 An officer, assisted by a Beavercreek PD Officer, responded to 1832 Courtland on a disturbance. A Zsa Zsa L. Dillon (W/F/45) was involved and found to have an active warrant through Butler Township for FTA from a traffic offense. 2017-39544 0845 An officer was dispatched to 4125 Hempstead Station Dr., Store N Lock, on a report of people living in a storage unit. Upon his arrival, he went to storage unit 305, knocked on the door, and lifted it to find two females sleeping in a bed. One was Morgan Kindred Brewer, (w/f/33), who had an

active warrant from MCSO. Brewer was arrested and transported to KPD Jail, and then transferred to the MCSO Jail. 2017-39559 1527 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Wilmington for a moving violation. The driver, Jason D. Ballard (W/M/42) was DUS and found in possession of prescription medication and property which did not belong to him. Ballard was held on felony drug possession and RSP, along with misdemeanor RSP. Dayton PD indicated they would be sending a detainer on Ballard for the burglary investigation. 2017-39616 1614 Officers responded to a suspicious person call at 1689 West Dorothy Lane. The subject, Derrick E. Poston (W/M/35) had an active warrant through Moraine PD for theft. Poston was arrested on the confirmed warrant and a field transfer was completed with Moraine PD. 2017-39619 1936 Officers responded to a family problem in the 5500 block of Bigger Road. The victim reported that her live-in boyfriend, Zachary D. Manerchia (W/M/24) assaulted her and she had visible marks to substantiate the claims. Manerchia was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on domestic violence and assault. 2017-39654 2125 An officer conducted a traffic stop for moving violations and found the driver, David Cross (W/M/60) to be under the influence of alcohol. Cross refused to submit to field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. Cross was transported to the Kettering Jail where he tested.197 BAC. 2017-39673 Sunday, August 6, 2017 0056 Officers were dispatched to 1725 Woodman on a reported traffic accident involving an intoxicated driver. The driver had struck a tree and then got stuck on the railroad tracks. Maria N. Ireland (W/F/38) was arrested for OVI and transported to the KPD Jail where she refused the breath test. 2017-39702 1544 Officers responded to Skateworld, 1601 East David Road on a disturbance. Darlene R. Adkins (W/F/35) was arrested for assault after pushing down a six year old child and hitting the mother of that child. Adkins was transported to the Kettering Jail for processing. 2017-39770

1655 Officers responded to the 2600 block of California on a suspicious person call. The subject was identified as Johnathan E. Paletta (W/M/28) and had an active warrant through Dayton PD for domestic violence. Paletta was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrant. 2017-39775 1955 An officer conducted a traffic stop at Dixie and Bowman for a registration violation. The driver, David A. Dodson (B/M/35) was DUS and had two active felony warrants for theft out of Butler County and Bellfontaine PD. Dodson was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrants. 2017-39801 2015 Officers made contact with Martin T. Zajovits (W/M/59) as he arrived home in the 4400 block of Wehner. Dispatch received possible OVI complaints from witnesses in the area of Stroop and Wilmington. Zajovits was found to be under the influence alcohol and was arrested for OVI after failing field sobriety tests. Zajovits was transported to the Kettering Jail where he tested.215 BAC. 2017-39809 ###
