Measured over all the modalities, more than 35% of the budget was spent on food security, more than 50% to the Sub-Saharan Africa region and more than 67% of the budget was allocated to Category I countries. Exactly 50% of the budget was allocated to female participants. Within the selection process for the group training courses, refresher courses and tailor-made training courses, we take into account if applications pay sufficient attention to gender aspects of the subjects to be trained. We also check if an effort is made to have an acceptable representation of female participants in the group. Group trainings Tailor-Made training applications are submitted to the Dutch embassies and consulates in the NFP countries. The embassies and consulates assess the applications and joint proposals to verify whether they match the development priorities for their respective countries and for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the whole. Nuffic assesses the quality of the proposals. Assessments of refresher courses are conducted by Nuffic, which focuses on assessing the quality of the proposals and linking the quality to the priority areas of the region.
