On September 9th, the Allies sponsored a glow in the dark capture the flag on campus. Two teams of students, the green team and the purple team, battled it out throughout the entire block on campus for two hours until the purple team strategically overrun the green team, capturing their flag and returning it to their home base. It started with a large group but drew in more students as the game went on ending with a total of 27 students attending with various "watchers" throughout the playing field. To call it a successful program would be an understatement as it not only brought excitement for the students but it also incorporated exercise, strategic thinking, and a necessary bond between peers. The Allies will be hosting various events throughout the year. We would like to encourage students, faculty and staff to attend Pitt Night at the Titusville High School football game on Friday, September 16 against Harbor Creek. This event will show our Pitt Pride while supporting our local athletes, band members, communities and hopefully future Pitt students. Tickets can be purchase from Student Affairs. Game time is 7:00 p.m.

Tips N Tailgate was a Learning Center sponsored event that welcomed freshman to meet with faculty and have dinner together and talk over academic-related questions, and explore different topics revolving around tutoring for their classes. Faculty representatives included myself, Mary Ann Caton, Marc Ross, and Nancy Tress. We had 16 students turnout for the event including some sophomores that joined us to share some of their perspectives. We wrapped up the evening with a tailgating party on campus and then attended the Titusville H.S. football game together. Everyone has a blast! On Saturday, September 3, 2016, Officers Dave Whiteman & Ted Rougeux of the UPT Campus Police assisted Titusville PD on a loose pig. A few scratches behind the ears de-escalated any possibility of a negative outcome and the potbelly pig compliantly returned home with her parents. (Article and photo by Dave Whiteman).
