Melburne City Missin Palliative Care (MCMPC) was established in 1981 as the first cmmunity-based palliative care service t perate in Victria. MCMPC aims t enhance quality f life by prviding specialist interdisciplinary palliative care fr peple living with a terminal cnditin, their families and carers. MCMPC prvides a 24-hur service 7 days a week. Wrking as a member f an interdisciplinary team and in cllabratin with external health prfessinals, the Palliative Care registered nurse will prvide palliative care t MCMPC clients in accrdance with the values, plicies and prcedures f Melburne City Missin Palliative Care, and within the philsphy and rganisatinal values f Melburne City Missin. The service is prvided t residents f the lcal gvernment areas f Darebin, Hume, Mreland and Yarra in accrdance with the Palliative Care Australia s Standards fr Prviding Quality Palliative Care fr all Australians 2005. JOB OBJECTIVES The Palliative Care Nurse will prvide initial nursing assessment and psychscial screening fr all clients admitted fr care.
