October 14, 2010

Our History In 1978, Sharon Knopp, Coordinator Medical Staff Affairs at Sheboygan Hospital, sent a letter to Medical Staff secretaries around the state to determine if there was a desire to begin a chapter in Wisconsin of the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). In 1979, Dolores Ebben received a letter from NAMSS stating that Shirley Freeburg of Eau Claire was a member of the Advisory Committee who would be interested in helping develop a Wisconsin chapter. The first organizational meeting of the Wisconsin Association was held Saturday, June 28tth at Methodist Hospital in Madison. It was decided that the First Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Association would be held on Saturday, August 23, 1980 at Methodist Hospital in Madison. And so it began.
