Impart the SM application of the SCOUTING IDEALS Evaluate the health of the Troop and it s leadership from the scouts prospective Confirm Scout Spirit within the interviewing Scout Time: FYR ~30 min; Leadership ~45 min Appointment scheduled by the Scout and Scoutmaster
Advancement Process Patrol Leader conducts a Scout Skill Review, initials for a SMC Asst Scoutmaster confirms the Scout Spirit Advancement For First Year Ranks excluding Scout Rank, the scout sets an appointment with the ASM to complete the SMC For Leadership Ranks, Scout sets an appointment w/ SM, not to be scheduled on Troop meeting nights The SM Conference Goals Get to know the Scout, build a personal relationship Assess the health of the scout and troop Obtain Feedback from scout, question new areas of improvement Confirm Scout Spirit, Participation and Leadership (as appropriate) Approved for BoR Advancement Sign off on the Handbook for both Scout Spirit and SM Conference Direct the scout to the Advancement Chair to schedule a BoR Disapproval for Advancement Provide reasons for disapproval of advancement Establish goals and develop plans to expand the application of Scout Spirit, Leadership or Troop Involvement.
