I started automated peritoneal dialysis in Kenya in the year 2006 and trained other nurses in the country after i was trained in South Africa 2. I have been following up patients in the community. 3. I train nurses in hospitals on peritoneal dialysis. I also do teach patients. 4. I have done NCLEX exam in America which i passed and i am a licensed nurse to practice there. 5. I belong to professional bodies such as Nehrology nurses association of Kenya, Nephrology association of Kenya, Critical care Chapter and National nurses association of Kenya 6. I have presented scientific papers in several international conferences 7. I am accredited by the nursing council of Kenya to practice community work for patients and to provide continuous professional development of nurses by providing short courses on palliative care, HIV, renal nursing, basic life support and advanced life support March 2015- Provided a 2 days BLS/First aid training at the Nairobi womens hospital February 2015- Attended and presented a paper in the nephrology nurses association in Nairobi
September 2014: Presented a scientific paper in Malindi at the renal association of Kenya October 2014: Attended the critical care chapter in Mombasa July 2014 Provided training on peritoneal dialysis to 2 Ugandan Nurses and a doctor in partnership with Kenyatta National Hospital. This included demonstrations and home follow up for the patients April 2014 Participated in a medical camp which was hosted by Gospel centers international at Utawala. February 2014 Participated in the 3 rd Kenya renal nurses association conference held in the school of monetary studies on the role of education in the provision of renal care and presented a paper on Peritoneal dialysis as a successful first renal option. October 2013 Participated in the medical & surgical camp conducted in the Kingdom of Swaziland in the Ministry of health through ECSA-HC I have presented several researches in the critical care chapter, Renal nursing association and Nephrology association conferences. Participated in the Kenya renal association at the Mombasa continental resort and presented a paper on peritoneal dialysis I also carry out consultancy work whenever I am called upon by hospitals and companies I have trained both government and private sector health workers on malaria management for division of malaria disease control in the ministry of health using the current WHO guide lines in the year-2012 & 2013 I have trained PMTCT and paediatric HIV in 2013 for Funzo kenya in Makueni, Kiambu and Machakos counties. I have participated in community teachings and demonstrations on HIV/AIDS in churches and others organized by the Kenya Red Cross severally. I have served the community with passion by being part of the health team in the church where I provide free advisory service to those who have health problems. I occasionally train in the couples seminars as well as teenagers and I am devoted to visiting orphans as well as widows I teach the youth in the church on HIV/AIDS as well as couples seminars.
