HOMECOMING is Saturday, September 16th from 7-10pm. Tickets are on sale in the Activities Office for $10 each. You must present your ID to purchase tickets. Guest forms are also available if you are planning to bring a student from another school. Guests must be under 21. Guests may not be in middle school. Don t wait until the last minute!! Both the North student and the guest must bring their ID to the dance. No exceptions will be allowed. HOMECOMING THEMES the week of September 11 th -15 th Monday: Beach Bum Tuesday: Tacky Tourist Wednesday: Swinter Day (summer and winter) Thursday: Gone fishing Friday: Flounder Friday (Blue& Gold) WILDCATS TO HELP HURRICANE VICTIMS National Honor Society, Student Council and JOI Club will be teaming up next week to collect money and donations to help Hurricane victims. Students will be collecting at the volleyball game, bonfire and Homecoming football game. Collection boxes will be in the IMC all next week. We are looking for school supplies, personal hygiene items, uniform clothing for middle school students (khakis, polo shirts) and gift cards to Wal Mart or Target. Donations will be sent to local organizations sending aid and Attucks Middle School in Houston where North alumnus Julia Andrews is an associate principal. ALL STATE CHOIR CLINIC in Muscatine this Saturday. All State choir students should be at school at 6:50 AM this Saturday as the bus is leaving at 7 AM. They should bring money for food, water bottle, music and a pencil. Dress is school appropriate. MUM FUNDRAISER PICKUP FOR BAND AND ORCHESTRA Monday next week is for band orders only. Orchestra mums will arrive on Wednesday. We had to break it up into 2 days because so many were sold this year. Students sold over 800 plants, which is amazing! Just a heads up, because we sold so many, Wallace's might have to substitute some colors on a few orders. Sometimes they run low on the purple and bronze mums when we sell a lot. Hopefully that won't have to happen much though and we try to do that with orders for people who don't care which color as long as they're all the same color. Band orders can be picked up

after school on Monday in the band room. If you can't make it between 3 and 3:30, you can also pick them up before the booster meeting that night between 6 and 6:30 (or after the meeting if you stay for the meeting). Also...come to the booster meeting Monday at 6:30! PIZZA RANCH TIP NIGHT Stop by Pizza Ranch on Monday, September 11 th and let the North Drama students bus your table for tips!! BAND CALL TIME FOR PARADE AND FOOTBALL GAME We have the homecoming parade on Thursday, Sept. 14th and the homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 15th. All of the game day logistics will be the same as last time. Call time 5:30 pm at Brady St. Stadium on the 15th. The parade is a little tricky because it doesn't end in the same place where it begins. It begins at Wood Intermediate School and ends at North High School. Students need to be dropped off at Wood and picked up at North. Students driving themselves need to carpool with a friend and drop a vehicle off at North before going to Wood so that they have a way back to Wood to pick up the other vehicle after the parade and bonfire. Call time at Wood on the 14th is also 5:30 pm. The parade begins at 6 pm. The Wood band will again be marching with us, which is always fun. After we arrive at North, students can watch the Homecoming ceremony and then we play briefly at the bonfire. Students are free to leave after we perform at the bonfire. Dress for the parade is the marching band t-shirt and jeans. ATHLETIC BOOSTERS are hosting Rock & Roll Bingo on Saturday, September 16 th at 7:00pm at CASI. Doors open at 6:00pm. Cost is $10. Instead of numbers listen to bits of music and mark your card! Lots of prizes and a silent auction too! Dear North Athletic Parents, On behalf of the Athletic Booster Board, thank you for your continued support of our athletes. We are entering a new year and are looking forward to all the excitement and achievements that our student athletes will accomplish. The purpose of this letter is to ask you to consider supporting North Athletes; you can help our student athletes by being an active participant in the Booster Club and assisting with our fundraising efforts. The decreased funding from the School District makes the work of the Boosters all the more important. Our athletes deserve to be equipped with the best facilities and equipment to help them remain competitive. The Athletic Boosters can help make that happen but we need your help. This past year the Athletic Boosters allocated nearly $48,000 to the athletic teams. Some of the items provided were: New uniforms for several teams ipad for recording game footage New Mat for High Jump Weight Room Equipment Charter buses for state travel The Boosters raise money to be able to provide these items for the athletes, the role of the Boosters is vital for our school and future athletes. With your help we can continue to provide the support our athletes deserve. Please participate, all parents of a North Athletes are Booster members, there is no membership fee. What we do ask is that each parent volunteer at the fundraising events and attend the monthly meetings, we need your input! Please note that Booster meetings will be held the third Monday of every month at 6PM in the North Library. Please attend the meetings, your input will help. Our athletes need your help. Watch our Facebook Page for updates: Davenport North Athletic Boosters. We are making a difference for our student athletes. Thank you for your support! Go Wildcats!
