Due to the hard work of the Regimental Band, Choir and Field Music, we thoroughly enjoyed this year s Holiday Concert. The members were dressed in their favorite Holiday costumes and prizes were given to the best dressed by Col. and Mrs. Doyle. Thank you, WO2 Phil Evans, Bandmaster, for your dedication to the teaching and coaching of these young men and women.
Soon your efforts will be appreciated by the folks from all over the world watching the New Year s Day Parade in person and on television as the Color Guard leads the VFMA&C Regimental Band through the streets of London! Santa, thanks you for the cookies! CHRISTMAS VESPERS: Last Sunday, the Corps of Cadets, cadet family members, staff, faculty and members of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Right Angle Club along with their guests, celebrated a lovely performance by our Regimental Choir led by Choirmaster, Mr. Raymond Bonnard and Organist/Pianist, Mr. Theodore Didden. The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols of Christmas were first read on Christmas Eve in 1880 by the English Bishop of Truro. Millions of listeners worldwide tune in annually to Radio Three and Radio Four in the UK for a repeat performance. VFMA&C is honored to also partake in this inspirational celebration. During that time, our Jewish cadets met with Rabbi Kaplan and our Muslim cadets met with Dr. Selim in honor of their celebrations of the season as well. CHINESE CLUB TRIP: On November 6, 65 Chinese cadets visited the Penn Museum at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. They thoroughly enjoyed their time and guided tour of the Egyptian gallery and the exhibition of Maya 2012.
