OFFICIAL PLAYOFF WATER POLO BALL Kap7 International has entered into an agreement with the San Diego Section. Kap7 International is providing all the section playoff water polo balls and will be the Official Water Polo Ball for the 2018 San Diego CIF Girls Water Polo Playoffs. REMINDER: Ensure any water polo ball used in CIF competition has the NFHS authentication mark. 2. QUALIFYING The San Diego CIF Girls Water Polo playoffs will consist of four divisions. Open= 8 teams, Division I= 12 teams, Division II= 12 teams, and Division III= 12 teams. The Commissioner s Office will seed the teams (without regard to League Champions) after input from the Water Polo Pairings Committee and will determine all draws. The Pairings Committee Meeting will take place February 10, 9:00 a.m., CIFSDS Office. Each league champion shall be guaranteed entry into the first round, or play- in game of its respective division. If a league champion is not seeded into the playoffs, the champion will host a play-in game versus the lowest-seeded team in that division. If more than one league champion is not seeded, the highest ranking league champion will play the lowest seeded team, the 2nd highest ranked league champion will play the 2nd lowest seeded team, etc. The play-in game would be played Monday February 12. This accommodation does not apply to playoffs that begin with the quarterfinal round. If your team is an automatic qualifier, your team schedule/results must be submitted via CIFSDS Home by Friday, February 9 at midnight Pairings will be posted on February 10, by 11:00 a.m., at www.cifsds.org. ALL COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A MEETING AT CIFSDS OFFICE, 3636 CAMINO DEL RIO NORTH, SUITE 200, TO FINALIZE GAME TIMES AND SITES AT 11:00 a.m. 1

5. OFFICIAL SCORER AND TIMER The home team shall supply the official scorer for their first-round games. As provided in the National Federation Water Polo Rule Book, the visiting team shall provide an assistant scorer who shall be permitted to sit at the Officials table. 6. OFFICIALS All game officials will be assigned by Mike Gordon, CIFSDS Water Polo Assignment Secretary. The home team will pay officials for playoff games where admission is not charged, and they will be paid from gate receipts in contests where admission is charged. 2017 Water Polo Playoff Officials Fees Preliminary Rounds 2 @ $62.00 Semifinals 2 @ $62.00 Championships 2 @ $71.00 7. TICKETS First Round: The home school will provide tickets, if admission is charged. (See Green Book, CIFSD Policies and Procedures Article VII, Playoffs, pages 10-11.) Playoff Report Forms are available on the CIFSDS Home site; please visit the website at www.cifsds.org Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Finals: CIFSDS will host quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. Ten complimentary admissions will be permitted for each participating school. A list of 10 guests on school letterhead must be signed by a school administrator and submitted via email to Anna- annas@cogganaquatics.org. This will be the only form of complimentary ticket distribution. 8. ADMISSION There are only two playoff ticket ranges Adult - Defined as anyone over 18 years old and Student/Senior - Student defined as anyone age 5 through age 18; Senior defined as anyone age 60 orover: Quarter finals Semifinals Championship a. Adults $9* $11* $15* b. Students/Seniors $6* $7* $9* 9. PARTICIPANT PASSES All teams will receive 24 participant passes (for coaches, field players, managers and goalies). Passes for quarterfinals through finals available at the gate from Dick Draz, Tournament Director. 3

PASSES No deviation from the following: Permitted -, CIFSDS Media Passes, CIFSDS Playoff Passes, CIFSDS Life Passes, State CIF Life Passes, and State CIF Passes. ** CIFSDS COURTESY CARDS MAY NOT BE USED FOR ENTRY INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES Not Permitted - CIFSDS Boys and Girls Scouting Passes, league passes, district passes, faculty passes, officials association passes, college or university passes, etc. 11. OFFICIAL CIF-SAN DIEGO SECTIONCHAMPIONSHIPRINGS Official CIF-San Diego Section Championship rings are now available from Jostens. Rings are available for participants, finalists, and champions. CLEAN-UP Each team shall be responsible for clean-up of its own bench area immediately following the contest. 16. CHEERLEADERS A maximum of 25 uniformed varsity cheerleaders, representing each of the two competing schools, will be admitted free of charge to all CIFSDS playoff contests. 17. SPIRIT SIGNS All signs, posters, banners, etc., by each competing school are to be utilized for the purpose of promoting its own team rather than downgrading its opponent. Therefore, no signs, banners, etc., will be permitted that refer to an opponent except in a positive manner. 4

18. PROGRAMCONCESSION The 2018 program concession has been awarded to Rod Bowen at Santana High School. Coaches seeking entry into the 2018 playoffs, must complete and submit a roster form including cap number, name and grade.(provided by Rod Bowen) along with a team photo Rod@bowenprinting.com Deadline is Monday February 12 to get this information to Rod Bowen. 19. CIFSDS RECORD BOOK UPDATE CIF Record Book Information may be updated through the CIFSDS Home Site under the New CIFSDS Records tab. Please visit our website at www.cifsds.org to log in.
