National Stockpile (NS) National Stockpile (NS) are stocking in accordance with the Regulation for the type and scope of the NS in the ARM (Army of the Republic of Macedonia). ARM carry out optimization of the NS examination and submit report to the competent institutions for National excess of ammunition, but still awaiting the decision of the government. As ussual proceedings with the National excess are: Sale, Donation or Destruction. 3

Staff training for physical security and managing with ammunition Ø TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command) is responsible for Staff training for managing with ammunition. In 2013 one representative from Macedonian Army finished course in Kragujevac for Мanaging with ammunition, organized by ITF. Ø it would be desirable to organize a joint practical training for Macedonian Army and police forces about Мanaging with ammunition. 4

ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA Visits by the expert team In 2011 Macedonian storage sites (Erebino, Drenov Dol and Krivolak) were visited by the expert team from Defense threat reduction agencydtra. On the end of the activity techical report was done. There are some recommendations : 5

Physical security Partially Met. Fence meets requirements but is extremely rusted and in need of extensive repair along the entire perimeter. Recommendation. Replace perimeter fencing. 6

Not Met. Heavy vegetation growth along the entire fenceline will allow intruders to approach undetected. Recommendation. Clear vegetation 4 meters on both sides of perimeter fence.

Each ammunition storehouse should have either; 1. A single mortise lock requiring two separate unique keys. 2. Two mortise locks each requiring a unique key. 3. Two padlocks and hasps to the required national security standard each with its own unique key.

Entrance doors should be constructed of steel. Alternately, entrance doors may be constructed of wood (minimum thickness of 4.5cm) covered with a 12 gauge steel plate

Weapons will be counted on a regular periodic basis (monthly, quarterly) by serial number. If weapons are stored in crates and banded, then seals may be used as verification of crate integrity and the serial numbered items stored within without having to open the crate.

Packaging material for ammunition should be marked with permanent stamping or stenciling, or with non-permanent stickers, tags, or symbols.

Weapons should be stored in metal racks with a securing bar placed across the weapons in such a manner as to prevent easy removal on the weapon. Weapons racks may be wooden if the weapons are secured in such a way as prevent easy removal. Met. Weapons stored in shipping containers.
