Many companies encourage employees to contribute to charities by offering to match gifts. A matching gift is a donation made by an employer that matches the amount of an employee s gift to the same fund resulting in a much larger, more impactful gift. If you would like your donation to have twice the impact: Contact your company s gift matching administrator to inquire if such a program is offered. Inquire about the donation and matching process guidelines. Often, funds can be matched through cheque, cash, credit/debt card or stock. Who will be receipted for the gift? You will receive an official tax receipt for your gift and once we receive employer s matching gift, they will receive a tax receipt for their gift too.
Polar Bear Week Arctic Canada is home to over a quarter of the world s Arctic lands and waters. As the climate, warms Arctic sea ice is disappearing. That summer ice is vitally important to a whole range of animals from tiny shrimp to vast bowhead whales, and to local people. WWF is planning for a healthy Arctic future by focusing on three main priorities: building knowledge, guiding policy and partnering up with northern Communities to ensure that this region - including wildlife, and the people who depend on healthy wildlife populations - is able to adapt to a changing climate. All funds raised during Polar Bear Week will be directed to this program that is so critical to the future of the Arctic. Learn more. Canada Water Week Freshwater Canada has 20% of the world s fresh water, an abundance that has led to a false sense of security. Globally, freshwater species populations have fallen by at least 35% in the past 40 years. Nature needs fresh water to flourish and communities need healthy rivers and watersheds to prosper. WWF is leading an innovative approach to freshwater conservation, focusing on environmental flows at the watershed scale to protect and restore the quantity, quality and timing of river flows so that we can meet the water needs of people and nature, securing Canada's freshwater future.
