PURPOSE Primary Care physicians often see patients who present with abdominal pain resulting from various etiologies. Many of these cases require surgical intervention. This program will review a variety of causes of abdominal pain with the ultimate goal of optimizing surgical outcomes. COURSE CREDIT Wake AHEC designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Wake AHEC will provide 0.4 CEU to participants upon completion of this activity. A participant must attend 100% of the program to receive credit. Partial credit will not be awarded. Wake AHEC will provide up to 4.0 Contact Hours to participants. AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 4.0 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program Other health professionals will receive Wake AHEC CEUs and a certificate of attendance from an AMA PRA Category 1 activity. These certificates are accepted by the NC Boards for nurse practitioners and registered nurses. License requirements are subject to change. Wake AHEC recommends that participants contact their licensing boards for specific questions. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) through the joint providership of Wake Area Health Education Center and UNC REX Healthcare.
