VOLUME 28 - NUMBER 4 GEO GEO NEWS Keeping Employees Informed Since 1986 2016 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR JANUARY 2016 His positive attitude, loyalty and dedication to his fellow employees and the citizens of Kissimmee have earned him this distinction awarded by his peers. The City of Kissimmee is proud to recognize BRANDON BRINEGAR as the 2015 Employee of the Year! He is a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Public Works & Engineering department. He is a dedicated employee who has worked for the City for more than seven years. Brandon joined the City s family in October 2007 and it wasn t long before his positive attitude, strong work ethic and upbeat personality made itself apparent and he moved up the ranks to his present position. He is highly respected by co-workers and revered as someone who is caring and always willing to lend a helping hand when and where it s needed. Besides his normal responsibilities for his department, he also trains employees in and out of his division to obtain their CDL licenses. This takes a special talent and patience as many of the trainees have never driven commercial vehicles. He handles the process from beginning to end, from the written test to conducting a proper inspection of the vehicle and then finally driving the vehicle. To date, Brandon has successfully trained nine City employees, who have obtained either a Class A or B license. Brandon was honored as Employee of the Year at the Annual Employee Holiday Party on Thursday, December 10. 1 City Manager MIKE STEIGERWALD (right) presents the Employee of the Year Award to BRANDON BRINEGAR (left).

GLAD YOU ASKED The Glad You Asked Program was developed by the City Manager to provide a means for employees to get answers to questions, express opinions or voice complaints about the City. WHERE DO I GET A FORM? The Glad You Asked form can be found at U:\AllCity\Forms\Glad You Asked Form PDF.pdf. The Employee of the Month nomination form can be found at U:\Common\AllCity Forms EOM Nomination Form PDF.pdf. Both forms can be picked up in the Personnel & Risk Management Department. BRAVO PROGRAM The Bravo program is designed to recognize employees going above and beyond the normal call of duty in their effort to deliver excellent service. Supervisors have the privilege of writing a Bravo and may present it to any employee who was noticed performing the extraordinary service. Employees may redeem their Bravo in Personnel for a token acknowledging their achievement. Some recent examples of great Bravos include: Went on your lunch hour to pick up supplies; Did a fantastic job handling an emergency situation very professionally; Cleaned and organized our supply room and cabinets. Keep up that great service to your customers and you could be the next Bravo recipient! DEADLINE FOR THE FEBRUARY ISSUE IS MONDAY JANUARY 11

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH 2016 The City of Kissimmee is honored to recognize TAMARA GARY as the Employee of the Month for December. Tamara is a Clerk Technician within the City s Warehouse Division. She has been a valued member of the City s team for more than eight years. As one of only two employees working at the City s warehouse, Tamara has done an outstanding job in her role. She is very meticulous in her job functions, and always engaged in her work, going the extra mile when necessary. Tamara has been instrumental in making sure that when the Print Shop closed, that the space was cleared out and all inventory accounted for. She took great efforts to get resources where they were needed most, and was extremely organized and dedicated to making sure everything stayed on track. In the process, she moved offices and created a new space for paper materials, creating efficiencies and new processes, without missing a beat. Tamara is kind, friendly and positive. She has set a high standard in the area of job performance and easily meets the qualifications of an outstanding employee. Her loyalty to the City of Kissimmee, genuine concern for work standards, and willingness to offer assistance outside the normal scope of her daily duties has earned her the honor of being the City of Kissimmee employee of the month. The City is proud to recognize Tamara as the Employee of the Month.
