Archery Best suited for First Class scouts and above or scouts with exceptional archery skills. No prerequisites. Scouts may need to go to the range from 3-3:50 to complete this merit badge. Most likely completable though weather can prevent required observations. Maximum 12 Scouts per Bird Study Recommended for Scouts of all ages. Canoeing Best suited for First Class scouts and above. Prerequisite: Swimmer. Additional practice time suggested. Geocaching Geology Home Repairs Geocaching Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd year Scout or older. Will learn how to use a GPS and basic planning. Pre-requisites: Req. 7, 8 a, b and c. Maximum of 8 Scouts per Best suited for First Class Scouts and above as there is a lot of math that would not be age appropriate for younger scouts. No prerequisites. Maximum 12 Scouts per Home Repairs Appropriate for 3rd year Scout or older. The basics of home repairs will be reviewed and practiced. Some requirements may not be done at camp. Maximum of 10 Scouts per Insect Study Recommended for Scouts in their 2nd year or older. Prerequisite: Req. 9 Journalism Appropriate for a 3rd year Scout or older. Prerequisite: Req. 2 and 4. Maximum 15 Scouts per Kayaking Best suited for First Class Scouts and above. Prerequisite: Swimmer. Maximum 10 Scouts per Leatherworking Lifesaving Appropriate for any age. No prerequisites. Scouts wishing to create a more advanced project than the one provided may purchase a kit in the Trading Post. Maximum 12 Scouts per EAGLE REQUIRED: Prerequisites are 2nd and 1st Class Swimming requirements, Swimmer Classification, and needs to be a very strong swimmer. Maximum of 20 Scouts per Orienteering Painting Photography Pioneering Public Speaking Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd Year Scout or older. Advanced map, compass, and GPS work to a higher level. Maximum 20 Scouts per Painting Appropriate for 3rd year Scout or older. Scouts should come prepared with clothes that will get paint on them. Maximum of 8 Scouts per Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd Year Scout or older. Past experience with a camera would help and research into photography would help. Scouts must either have attended a national or world jamboree or have contacted and received information from the National BSA Museum. Prerequisite: 4a, 4b. Scouts should bring a pair of long pants and a long sleeve shirt for search done at the end of the week. Soil and Water Soil and Water Conservation Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd year Scout or older. All requirements can be done at camp except 7a, b, or c. These can be done as prerequisites. Maximum of 20 Scouts per Space Exploration Appropriate for Scouts of any age. No prequisites. Swimming Textile Water Sports Weather Wilderness Survival Wood Carving Woodworking EAGLE REQUIRED: Best suited for First Class scouts and above. Prerequisites: Second Class 7a, 7c, First Class 9a, 9c, and Swimmer classification (9b). Maximum 30 Scouts per Appropriate for any age Scout. Learn about the different types of textiles and their usages. Prerequisites: 2a and 3a. Maximum of 16 Scouts per Appropriate for 3rd year Scout or older with strong upper body strength and coordination. Must be a Swimmer classification and is encouraged to have Swimming merit badge. Maximum 4 Scouts per instructor. Weather Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd year Scouts or older. Prerequisites: 9b. Maximum of 20 Scouts per Appropriate for a 1st Class Scout or older. Good older program, challenging to mind & body, strong outdoor skills a must. A scout should come prepared to stay out overnight in a shelter of his own design. Maximum 20 Scouts per Appropriate for any age. No prerequisites. Scouts that do not have Totin Chip must earn it before starting any Woodcarving project. Scouts wishing to create a more advanced project than the one provided may purchase a kit in the trading post. Maximum 16 Scouts per Appropriate for 2nd or 3rd Year Scout or older.
