NESA Advancement Day About Advancement Day The members of the Lewis & Clark Eagle Scout Association Committee are proud to sponsor the 26 th Annual Advancement Day at Camp Joy on Saturday, August 28, 2010. The attached schedule lists the merit badges that will be offered during three two-hour long sessions. Merit badge counselors will operate each session and will certify partial or full completion of the requirements for a merit badge. How To Register Put each boys name in blanks with a 1 st AND 2 nd Merit Badge Choice. Assignment to classes will be first come, first served depending on when online registration is received. Submit registration via online at www.lewisandclarkbsa.com or www.eaglebsa.com. Early Registration deadline is Friday, August 20, 2010 Merit Badge Sessions There are 28 different Merit Badge & related courses offered. Only specific requirements will be covered during the 2-hour session. If the Scout has completed some of the merit badge requirements, he should bring proof with him. If a Scout is not prepared (not aware of the merit badge requirements) the counselor may not allow the Scout to participate. If there are multiple merit badge sessions, be aware of the requirements worked on in each session. Scouts who do not attend the first session(s) must have those requirements completed to participate in the afternoon sessions. What to Bring Scouts must bring a merit badge pamphlet and other supplies required for merit badges they have signed up for. A lunch should be brought along with a cup, lunch IS NOT provided but drinks will be. Why Does NESA Charge a Fee? The Lewis & Clark Council Eagle Scout Committee provides funds for college scholarships, the annual Eagle Banquet and other activities benefiting scouting. All proceeds from activities such as the Advancement Day go right back into providing programs and college scholarships.
Directions to Camp Joy Camp Joy is located on a country road to the south of what is called the Carlyle or Bartelso road cutoff an angling road intersecting Route 161 on the west and route 127 on the east. It s about 3.5 miles from Carlyle. From Ten Pin Bowling Alley (going south) turn right. Go to Boy Scout camp sign and turn left. Entrance to Camp Joy is ½ mile down this road.
