Key Projects Sixth Street Viaduct Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project $482 million Built in 1932 & spans nearly 3,500 feet across the river. Largest bridge Replacement Project in the history of Los Angeles due to a rare chemical reaction in the cement supports and seismic vulnerability. The project is ongoing and is expected to be completed in 2019.

Key Projects LA River Revitalization The LA River flows 51 miles through the nation's 2nd-largest urban agglomeration, drains an 870 square-mile watershed, and directly connects to the world's largest water body: the Pacific Ocean. With an implementation horizon of 20-50 years, the LA River Revitalization Plan recommends more than 240 projects at an estimated total build-out cost of greater than $2 billion and a new three-tiered governance system.

What You Will Do - Rotation Program Design Project Management/ Engineering Services Construction Management Newly hired Engineering Associates are automatically enrolled in the Rotation Program for a total of about 3 years, across different civil engineering disciplines Examples of work include: Process private development plans Generate cost estimates Work with outside consultants Perform community outreach Resolve issues from Local Residences Field Work / Monitor Site Activities Prepare plans and specifications Prepare environmental impact documentation Generate cost estimates Review shop drawings Perform Constructability Reviews

Competitive Salary For Engineering graduates or EIT Certificate holders, your starting salary is $66,231! Are you a registered Professional Engineer with the CA State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers? If so, your starting salary will be at the II level, which is $74,082! Plus, everyone gets a salary increase of 2.75% after nine months of City service! Then a step increase every year until you reach the 12th step!
Benefits Health and Dental Benefits? Yes! You will receive your package 6-8 weeks after you start work. Paid Holidays? Yes! There are at least 12 paid holidays of 8 hours each. Floating Holiday? Yes! After working 6 consecutive months, you ll receive 16 hours of an unspecified day off which you can take with your supervisor's approval. Vacation Pay? Yes! After working 12 consecutive months, you ll receive 88 hours of vacation time. Plus, an additional 7.20 vacation hours per month! Sick Pay? Yes! After working 6 consecutive months, you ll receive 8 hours of sick time per month.
