Los Angeles Southwest College Evaluation Plan Introduction: Systematic program evaluation is an orderly process whereby comprehensive and educationally sound mechanisms for appraisal are implemented to provide valid and meaningful information about the program of study. The data obtained from this process facilitates sound decision-making in order that improvements can be made to optimize student learning and success. Purpose: The purpose of the Evaluation Plan is to: Structure and organize data to facilitate on-going evaluation of the Nursing program in the areas of philosophy, purpose, terminal objectives, organization, administration, curriculum, faculty, students, and resources, facilities, and services. Identify effectiveness of the program in ensuring student success. Provide structure for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the program in meeting the health care needs of the community by preparing nursing care providers who will be able to function as members of the profession in a variety of health care settings. Review student evaluation of the program to identify program effectiveness in preparing a graduate who is able to meet the demands of the workplace. Areas for Evaluation: Systematic program evaluation is on-going in the Nursing program in the main areas of: Philosophy, Purpose, and Program Terminal Objectives Organization and Administration Faculty Students Curriculum Resources, Facilities, and Services These areas of evaluation are presented in the table in the following pages. Each area of the program to be evaluated has a series of questions associated with it. A specific activity is connected to each evaluation question, clarifying where that evaluation criteria can be located for review. In addition, the frequency of each activity, as well the persons responsible for that activity are identified.

1.1 Is the philosophy of the Associate Degree in Nursing program consistent with the mission of Los Angeles Southwest College? LASC Evaluation Plan 1.
