ANSTO Accelerators
ANSTO, Sydney Australia
Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation ANSTO is Australia s national nuclear research and development organisation and the centre of Australian nuclear expertise. Responsible for delivering specialised advice, scientific services and products to government, industry, academia and other research organisations. ANSTO s nuclear infrastructure includes the research reactor HIFAR (High Flux Australian Reactor), particle accelerators, radiopharmaceutical production facilities, and a range of other unique research facilities.
ANSTO Accelerators Over 40 years experience in operating accelerators Neutron generator, electron accelerator, Febetron This presentation will look at the: 3 Million Volt Van de Graaff accelerator 10 Million Volt Van de Graaff Tandem accelerator 2 Million Volt Tandetron accelerator
The 3MV ANSTO s 3 Million Volt Accelerator
HVEC - 3MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator Funded internally by ANSTO Now mainly used for routine IBA AINSE, Australian Industry, Local and Regional Councils, International Universities, National and International Collaborative Projects Operates every available work day No major scheduled shut down for maintenance Major maintenance issues, ion source service, charging belt, general vacuum systems 3 MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator
Yesteryear 3 MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator
Yesteryear Yesterday 3 MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator
3 MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator
One of the major uses for the IBA facility is to measure the elemental composition of fine particle dust samples for major national and international projects. 3 MV Van de Graaff Positive Ion Accelerator
