Our Mission: The Eagles Autism Challenge is dedicated to raising funds for innovative research and programs to help unlock the mystery of autism. By providing the necessary resources to doctors and scientists at leading institutions, we will be able to assist those currently affected by autism as well as future generations. Our event aims to inspire and engage the community, so together, we can provide much needed support to make a lasting impact in the field of autism. Our Partners: As the newest initiative of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Eagles Autism Challenge has partnered with leading institutions including Children s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. Fundraising Toolkit 2

Working Together Why Autism? Autism Spectrum Disorder is a bio-neurological disability that impacts the normal development of the brain. Individuals who have been touched by autism often experience verbal and non-verbal communication challenges, along with difficulties in the areas of social interaction and cognitive function. Autism is now being identified at a rate of 1 in 68 births 1 in every 42 boys making it the largest developmental disorder in the world. While there is no medical detection or cure for autism, its numbers continue to grow at an alarming rate. Unfortunately, autism has been historically underfunded, under-researched and commonly misunderstood. Working Together It is difficult for a single institution to address the complex medical and scientific issues presented by the condition of autism, so we have created a coalition with our beneficiary partners Children s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health. This coalition will bring fresh ways of thinking and additional resources to the field of autism research. What we learn here will be shared nationally and globally, so that everyone affected by autism can benefit from our collaborative efforts. We know that with your support we will be advancing autism research together. Fundraising Toolkit 3

Steps to Successful Fundraising Prepare to Ask Identify potential family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc. that you can ask for a donation. Make the Ask Ask everyone and anyone. The worst that will happen is they say no. Provide your donors with info on the Eagles Autism Challenge and let them know where their money is going and why this cause is important to you. Create the letter, email, social media post, etc. that you will use to ask for donations. Remember to remind the people you ask to donate. Schedule a reminder on your calendar. Fundraising Donations Ideas & Matching Gifts There are two ways your donors can donate to your fundraising page. Check All checks can be made out to the Eagles Autism Challenge, Inc. Mail the completed donation form and make sure to include the donor s email address for a tax receipt. The form can be found on our website at EaglesAutismChallenge.org. Mail the check(s) to: Eagles Autism Challenge, Inc. One NovaCare Way Philadelphia, PA 19145 Online Send donors your personal fundraising link (can be found on the dashboard of your fundraising account) and they can go to your page and click donate. Donors can go to EaglesAutismChallenge.org click donate, choose donate to an individual, they search for your name and complete the donation process. If they don t click your name, their donation will go to the general fund and not to your personal fundraising page. *Please be aware that if you are donating through a separate entity such as Benevity, Network for Good, Truist, United Way, etc., we have no control on when your donation will arrive at our office. Each entity has its own process that make take months for us to receive funds. Also, be aware some of these organizations take a processing fee out of the donation before they send us a check, resulting in a smaller donation amount on your page. Matching Gifts Most companies will match donations their employees donate to a qualifying charity/nonprofit. This is a great resource to double the donations you are receiving to get you closer you your goal. Submit the request to your company as soon as the donation is made and see what their process is. Matching gifts can take 3-9 months to process once you submit the request to your company. We have no control over when we will receive the matching gift to our office. Once they are received, they are immediately credited to your account. In case your match doesn t arrive before the fundraising deadline, avoid solely relying on them to reach your minimum. Matching gifts we receive after the May 31 st deadline will be credited to your account for next year. Fundraising Toolkit 12
