Uniform Guidelines The following information outlines the Sheppard NCO Academy uniform requirements. All students must know this information. Uniform of the Day: a) UOD is identified at the top of your Student Schedule for each day. b) Students have the choice of short or long sleeve blues shirts. Ties and tie tabs are optional with short sleeve shirts. c) Females may wear princess cut shirts and skirts or pants. General Rules: a) Outer garments will not be worn indoors. Exceptions: lightweight blue jacket, cardigan, pullover sweater, or green fleece. b) Security Forces are authorized to wear the beret. REDHORSE is authorized to wear the red cap IAW AFI 36-2903 para 6.2.10.1. c) Combat Control, Pararescue, Air Weather Survival Evasion Resistance & Escape, and Tactical Air Control party may wear the beret. They may also blouse their trousers in blues. d) The wear of occupational badges are MANDATORY, per AFI 36-2903 para 10.4.6 (applies to both ABUs and blues) e) Leather A-2 Flying jackets are authorized.*** Flight suits are authorized on Fridays. f ) Gym Bags: Will be solid dark-blue, black, olive drab, Air Force sage green or ABU pattern. Will be carried in the left hand. Use of shoulder strap is authorized on the left shoulder and the strap may cross the body as long as it does not interfere with rendering the proper salute. Small logos are authorized. g) Back Packs: Back packs will be solid black, olive drab, Air Force sage green or ABU pattern in color, and may be worn with any uniform combination. No ornamentation, high gloss, designs or hanging/dangling objects. h) If any uniform items do not fit properly you will be asked to have the sizing corrected. i) If it is not authorized or mentioned in the AFI, then it is not authorized for wear. The omission of a specific item or appearance standard does not automatically permit its wear. IAW AFI 36-2903 para 1.5.1.2 Uniform Policies: a) No outer garments are authorized during service dress inspections. b) ABU: Primary AFSC badge is mandatory. Modifications to uniform must be IAW AFI 36-2903. ABU collars will not be sewn down. c) Service Uniform: Primary AFSC badge and nametag are mandatory. d) Service Dress Uniform: Ties, tabs, ribbons and primary AFSC badge are mandatory. Jackets may be removed after inspections. If wearing a short sleeve shirt, ties and tabs may be removed as well. HP Uniform: a) PT Shirt must be tucked in at all times. d) Sunglasses compliant with AFI 36-2903 are authorized during HP sessions. e) The use of MP3s, ipods, etc. are not authorized during NCOA HP sessions, with the exception of the 5K. Graduation Day: a) Service Dress Uniform will be worn at the Graduation Ceremony. The PME campus is the perimeter from NCOA (Bldg. 1900) includes all adjacent parking lots; additional, this includes smoking in POVs on Campus (Bldg. 2902) and includes both parking lots; additionally, this includes smoking in POVs on campus. Smoking is permitted during non-academic hours in designated tobacco use areas, to include on lunch period. This guidance includes the use of "Vapor" products. Building Hours: OPEN: 0645 CLOSE: 30 minutes after EOD. Your Flight Leader will have keys to access the building at anytime. Please DO NOT prop doors open after they are locked, they are to remain secured at all times. Please pull doors closed behind you to ensure they are secured.
