Personnel Recommendations were submitted to the Governor again in December 2014 but no appointments have been made to date. It was suggested that those recommended be considered for the advisory council when it becomes active in order to have exposure to the Center s operations. With arrival of full time Administrator, the contract with Chris Ross has ended. Final invoice was 49 hours totaling $1,123.36 The Vice Chancellor for Administration follows up with the Governor s Officer periodically and will report any progress. Laura commented it was very worthwhile to retain their assistance short term. 1

Budget/P Card approvals West Virginia Center for Nursing Salary enhancement for Ashley Noland has also ended. Laura said that she and Drema had met with Brian Weingart, Senior Director of Financial Aid to discuss opportunities for integration of the Nurse Scholarship program into existing HEPC processes. Drema reported that 2014 and 2015 RN renewal data has been received from the Office of Technology. LPN 2015 data has also been provided. Drema provided a proposal from DreamCatcher, the web designer company for the Center. They proposed to develop a similar tool that could be used statewide. The cost is $5,500. As of September, 2015, the budget shows ending cash balance as $398,330.94 P card purchases since August Brian will attend the January 15, 2016 Board meeting to discuss further. The RN data has been sent to Chris Davies who sorted it in the past. Could be available after the first of the year. Lynette Anderson will provide the LPN data in an excel spread sheet. Cindy Persily suggested that Drema see what other Centers are using and what other off the shelf products may be available. Information P card expenses approved 2
B. Annual Legislative Report C. Web Site Update D. WV RN Newsletter Ad West Virginia Center for Nursing totaled $560.56 and included web host costs and an office chair. Laura will take Drema to the LOCEA meeting on Monday, but the Center will not report until January. Drema had training to update the web site. There was discussion about using it to host faculty resumes and for limited job postings. Cindy discussed value of looking at stats on who is using the site etc. Drema provided the prior ad and said the cost is around $1,000 each time for the quarterly publication. It was approved to continue it, but Cindy suggested that the ad publication date match the scholarship deadline dates. Drema will draft a web site policy and will post updated Strategic Plan. Drema will match dates and submit only for those time frames that match up. E. National Nursing Workforce Forum The benefit of subscribing and attending the April 2016 conference was discussed. There had been issues paying them directly in the past. Drema will subscribe and work with accounting to process payment (appx $500) 3
F. Workforce Survey West Virginia Center for Nursing Drema provided the 2010 survey and one change under A was suggested/add include agency nurses in turnover rates. Cindy reviewed history of the process and suggested we ask Jim Krantz with WVHA to again administer the survey to hospitals. Others to be surveyed: LTC- Pat Kelly Public Health/Primary Care- Dr Gupta State Hospitals-Cindy Persliy Drema will edit the survey tool. G.
