Transcription:

I first began studying and working in the field of holistic wellbeing and adult education back in 2001. Little did I know then the journey I would be lead on I have an innate love of touch and I believe wholly in its profound effect in helping to promote relaxation, with a sense of wellbeing, in people of all ages at a mental, physical, emotional and often, a spiritual level. I ve trained adults for over 10 years and am a Certified ITEC Lecturer & Registered Fás, VTCT and FETAC Trainer and a qualified adult educator through the National College of Ireland. I have used reflexology myself for years to help cope with stress and to maintain my own immune system. Going on to train as a Reflexologist was a natural progression for me, so I could give the same level of care with loving intent as I have received over the years. I also have a great interest in nutrition, exercise and positive affirmations as supports in maintaining a healthy mind and body, and I try to work these in to my treatment sessions. For me, the consultation and home-advice parts of the treatment are critical. Being truly present and actively listening to concerns and worries is just as important as understanding presenting physical ailments. I feel privileged to be trusted to listen, and to channel as much healing and positive energy and love as I can in a treatment session. Jackie Byrne, DipITEC, MIRIL Reflexology Therapist & Reiki Master Specialising in: Reflexology Reiki Therapy Professional Memberships: The Irish Reflexologist Institute Jackie also runs her own private practice in Athlone, County Westmeath and full details of this can be found on her website: www.jbtherapies.ie

I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry, as a clinical scientist in a hospital and more recently as a special needs assistant at both primary and secondary level to gain life skills on my journey. Since qualifying in May 2011 my intention is to release issues in the tissues to promote health and wellbeing through a number of holistic complementary therapies, tailoring each treatment to suit the client. I enjoy being a member of the Rowan Tree Clinic team; working with such experienced therapists, interacting with such wonderful clients and baking a traybake for everyone to share. I also volunteer at the St. James Camino Network one afternoon every week to give their residents a chance to experience the benefits of complementary therapies. Her own experience of counselling in her early forties had significant benefit in her own life and created a desire to facilitate others in this regard.
