NURSES REGISTRATION BOARD PROJECTS: SPECIAL INITIATIVES (a) "Board Works" Newsletter In considering its functions, including those relating to the promotion and maintenance of professional standards of nursing practice and the publication and distribution of information concerning the Nurses Act and Regulations, the Board decided to issue a newsletter to all accredited nurses. The first issue was distributed in November 1997 and it is proposed to continue to issue this journal at least annually. (b) Internet Web-Site While a newsletter can achieve wide circulation at the date of issue, it is recognised that internet communications permit users to access information on a date and at a time of their choosing, from any location with an internet connection. Recognising the potential of this means of communication, a web-site has been established at http://nursesreg.health.nsw.gov.au. 29
