EpicCare Link provides view-only access to the patient's full UnityPoint Health medical record, including lab results, diagnostic test results, hospitalization records, procedural information, discharge instructions, progress notes, medications, allergies, medical history and more.
The user can find tip sheets and other documents located on the right side of the Home screen under Quick Links.
Click on the Patient button and use the patient information including the name and gender then ether the date of birth or the last four SS#.
The office will need to enter the Reason for Accessing the patient chart with EpicCare Link. Next Click Accept

The EpicCare Link user at the facility will be able to access various view only reports on the patient from the Chart Review.
The patient s demographic information is located in the Patient Profile menu.
Information from their last admission or Ed visit can also be reviewed by clicking on the encounter and viewing the report.
The office will be able to view areas of the patient chart by selecting from the Menu on the left. Including: Allergies, Medications, the Problem List

Managing Patient Confidentiality Several features are provided to help maintain your patient's confidentiality. Choose the feature that best fits your situation: 1. Secure - The EpicCare Link session is temporarily logged out for up to 45 minutes; log back in to return to the last screen you were viewing. 2. Close Patient Record - Finished viewing your patient's chart? Click Close Patient Record. 3. Log out - Have you viewed everything you need to view? Remember to Log out of CareLink. NOTE: EpicCare Link users are prohibited from using the system to view their own electronic medical records or those of another family member.
To access EpicCare Link you will need a PC or Macintosh computer, a high-speed or DSL internet connection (dial-up not recommended) and current browser edition of Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. EpicCare Link uses industry-standard encryption technology ensuring that only you and our staff have access.
Providers who have been identified in the UnityPoint Health s EMR (Epic) system by the patient as the patient's Primary Care Provider will have access to the medical record for as long as the provider is indicated as such.
When you enroll you gain the ability to manage your password. Your password needs to be used at least every 120 days, and you must change your password every 180 days.
When you have EpicCare Link open in your browser, click on the Page dropdown, then select Zoom % to change zoom out on your screen. This will enable you to see then entire screen. Also make sure your font size is medium.
