Page 3 of 7 Letter of Employment for Federal Employee Sponsors Qualifications Family member youths will be employed in routine, nonhazardous, unskilled clerical or labor positions that do not require experience or training. Youths do not need to meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook for General Schedule positions nor are they required to take a test to be employed. Placement on the referral list will be determined utilizing OPM's random number of the day tie breaking method. Students will be ranked on the referral list based on the random number tie breaking method based on the last digit of the applicant's social security number or tax identification number. Students will receive their work assignments via email or phone call once placements are made. Changes to work assignments will not be permitted. Consideration for employment under this program will be made in the following order: 1. Family members of DoD Military, APF and NAF Civilian personnel recruited from the CONUS who have status under the SOFA or JUSMAG Agreement and as assigned to a U.S. Forces installation in the ROK; 2. Permanent full-time locally hired U.S. citizen APF or NAF civilian employees who has status under the SOFA or JUSMAG Agreement and are assigned or attached to a U.S. Forces installation in the ROK; 3. Permanent full-time U.S. citizens employed by other U.S. Government agencies, DoD invited U.S. Contractors, Red Cross personnel, and other personnel affiliated with the U.S. Government, with SOFA or diplomatic status. Male applicants 18 years and older must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration or proof of exemption from Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of eligibility which must provide verification of family member status, social security or tax identification number, and a work permit, if required. Direct Deposit of Pay is Required. If access to Government computer systems is required, the Summer Hire sponsor will be required to follow the procedures listed in AR 25-2. Students who are NOT assigned to the overseas area with their sponsor and who are "visiting" for the summer are not eligible to participate in the Summer Hire Program. Placement through this program will only be within the commuting area of the sponsor's permanent duty station. Must be an eligible family member and must meet minimum age (14 years) requirements on the day of appointment. Students will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from their work site. Incomplete applications will not receive consideration.

BENEFITS This position is part of the Youth Employment program. When sufficient jobs are available to place all applicants one session will be held during the summer employment program, which is normally 8 weeks. When there are not enough summer jobs available for all applicants, two 4-week sessions will be held in order to give as many youths as possible an opportunity to work. Youth who worked the first 4-week session will not be offered an opportunity to work the second 4-week session until all other applications are placed. This appointment is a Youth Employment Summer Hire position. Due to the length of the appointment employees are not entitled to benefits, such as annual leave, life insurance, retirement, health benefits, etc. Other Information Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Upon selection for Student Summer Hire Program, the applicant will receive an invitation via email to Onboarding Manager.
