The BOSS Program provides single Soldiers an opportunity to participate in and contribute to their respective communities. The BOSS Committee holds monthly meetings at l 500 at various locations. The Committee is an avenue for Soldiers' input to the Garrison Conunander, who uses the Committee's recommendations as the basis to improve single Soldier MWR programs and enhance Soldier Quality of Life. The meetings are a means for military and Civilian leaders to gauge and enhance the morale of single Soldiers, which leads to retention and combat readiness. Old Business: Ms. Anna Marie Pearson spoke about the 1 August House of Heroes Volunteer event and the great turn out. The 8-9 August Ocoee rafting trip was a success with 10 participants. All participants were from BOSS. 4. New Business: a. Quality of Life Issues: There were three complaints about mold in barracks buildings 9189, 9188 and 2643. CSM Floyd contacted DPW directly. b. Voting: There were 7 brigades present to vote on upcoming BOSS events. As a result of the BOSS meeting, BOSS will be also adding a Six Flags trip, paintball, a college football game and bonfire to be executed during the winter and spring. Dates and prices will be discussed at the next meeting. The following activities were voted on as a yes to participate: (1) January 22-24, Gatlinburg Ski/Snowboard trip. (2) January 31, House of Heroes.

Upcoming Events: Ms. Pearson announced the following events: (1) 28 August 2015, Recreation/Leisure Event: BOSS Pool Party at the Kelley Hill pool. (2) 18 September 2015, Recreation/Leisure Event: Treadstone Climbing, $5 per single Soldier. (3) 19 September 2015, Volunteer Opportunity: Habitat for Humanity. (4) 26 September 2015, Recreation/Leisure Event: Destin, Florida trip including transportation, lodging, kayaking and stand up paddle board. Regularly priced at $145, the single Soldier price is $99. d. Ms. Pearson announced that we are still looking for a BOSS vice president. 5. Quality of Life Issues: The lights in Building 9146 had been off for a week, but was resolved as of 26 Jun. The laundry area in Building 2643 contains several machines needing to be replaced. Some have water that will not drain. This is causing an odor in the laundry area. b. Voting: None c. Upcoming Events: Ms. Pearson announced the following events: (1) 27 June 2015, Volunteer opportunity: Independence Celebration where Soldiers will be needed to help with Security. (2) 30 June 2015, Recreation/Leisure: Movie Premieres at the Carmike Wynnsong. This month's movie will be Terminator: Genisys. Tickets will be $11.50 and include the movie, popcorn and a beverage.

The BOSS Committee meets at I 400 the last Wed of each month at various locations The Committee is an avenue for Soldiers input to the garrison commander, who uses the Committee's recommendations as the basis to improve single Soldier MWR programs and enhance Soldier Quality of Life. The meetings are a means for military and Civilian leaders to gauge and enhance the morale of single Soldiers, which leads to retention and combat readiness. Old Business: Anna Marie Pearson spoke about the 27 Jun Independence Celebration volunteer turnout. The volunteers were a huge help to DFMWR staff. Zip lining was canceled 8 Jul due to lack of participation. 4. New Business: a. Quality of Life Issues: None. Brief Soldiers on correct procedures to call in work orders and follow up with BOSS 72 hours later. b. Voting : Representatives from nine brigades were present to vote on upcoming BOSS events and funds. Below are the events/activities and prices approved by BOSS representatives: (1) House of Heroes 1 Aug - Volunteer Activity (2) Pool Party 28 Aug - Use $2,000 for food, decorations and prizes. (3) Treadstone Climbing Gym 18 Sep - 10 Soldiers pay $5 each. The original price was $20. Use $150 from BOSS funds to pay the rest of the fee. (4) Habitat for Humanity 19 Sep - 10 Soldiers to volunteer. (5) Whitewater Express 20 Sep - $15 rafting trip to include lunch. The original price was $45. Up to $900 in BOSS funds to use for up to 30 Soldiers to participate. (6) Destin Florida (SUP, Kayaking, and Deep Sea Fishing) 25-27 Sep - $99 instead of $145 for up to 15 Soldiers. Send BOSS president or vice president to chaperone for a total of $835. (7) PAWS 3 Oct - 10 Soldiers to volunteer. $100 to be used for Volunteer shirts from PAWS. (8) Oktoberfest 23-25 Oct - $500 for allocation to BOSS Volunteer Camp (supplies, activities and food).

IMBE-MWR (9) NFL Game Falcons vs. Buccaneers 1 Nov - $75 per ticket. Give Single Soldier $30 discount and allow BOSS president and vice president to attend = $1,050. c. Upcoming Events: (1) Volunteer Opportunity 1 Aug: House of Heroes event to paint the home of veteran's widow, Bessie Self, in Fortson, GA. (2) Recreation/Leisure Event 8-9 Aug: Rafting trip ($85 for single Soldiers and $135 for all other participants). (3) Volunteer Opportunity 15 Aug: The U.S. Army Soldier Show event will need ushers at Marshall Auditorium to lead guests to their seats and direct them within the building. d. Anna Marie Pearson stated we are still looking for a BOSS vice president. 5.
