This summer, the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section s Summer Meeting returns to Baltimore after an 11-year absence. The site for the July meeting is the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Baltimore offers a wide range of historical and cultural attractions, in addition to many fine restaurants for both young and old to enjoy. Baltimore s Inner Harbor After a record-setting attendance for our winter meeting, the Programming Committee has finalized a CLE program that enables attendees to choose from a wide range of topics that impact on family law practice each and every day. The Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers will present a plenary session of Hot Tips from 20 of the most experienced practitioners in the commonwealth. In addition to that program, there will be six breakout sessions, including 2 for 1: S-Corporations Are They Worth More Than We Thought? Stock Options An Elusive Form of Income, Ethical Considerations in Interactions Between Psychologists and Attorneys: Avoiding Compromising Positions, Representing a Client with Disabilities, Military Issues, Venturing into Foreign Territory: A Guide Map to Children and Youth for the Family Practitioner, and Insurance. In addition to the plenary session and the breakouts, we will be featuring a Sunday morning of case law, legislative and rule updates. A Section meeting would not be complete without our social functions, which include receptions at the hotel on Thursday evening and Saturday evening, followed by a hospitality room each night. On Friday evening, we will be attending the Baltimore Orioles baseball game at Camden Yards. The Orioles will be facing off against the Detroit Tigers and Joe Martone was instrumental in securing 150 quality lower-level seats along the left-field line for the game. As usual, there are no CLE programs planned for the afternoons so that our members can enjoy the city of Baltimore and all that it has to offer. Our block of rooms sold out for the Philadelphia meeting. Please act quickly to make your reservations at the Marriott for this coming July. I look forward to seeing all of you and spending a memorable weekend at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Best Regards, Ned Hark Family Law Section Chair
