2017 Membership Renewal Process & Form Thank you! The success of the has always been, and will always be; a direct result of our membership. We continue to leverage the diverse and robust talents, enthusiasm, and dedication of our members into unprecedented legislative success, record setting conferences, highly active committees, and a first class magazine now available online as well as the printed version. Our new web page and database has allowed many other improvements as well, however; due to the nature of our membership renewal process, we have listened to our members who preferred the paper form completion US Mail method. Thus, this letter and accompanying form. In order to complete your membership renewal it is important for you to determine who you will be renewing and at which level as detailed below. Things To Consider When Renewing Section Membership: Brand new this year are Section Memberships. By joining a section you support the specific mission and focus of that group. History is being made with not only one, but two sections being created; both former stand-alone associations that have now partnered with the Minnesota Fire Chiefs and become sections; North Star Women s Firefighter Association and Fire Instructors Training Officers Association of Minnesota. You must be a MSFCA member first at the appropriate dues level then the Section membership dues is added. The Section Dues goes directly to that Sections Treasury to allow them to continue working on their mission. Department Membership: The Department membership was created in response to budget challenged departments who wanted to have more members but fiscal issues prevented this possibility. The Department Membership provides two full memberships (Chief and one more) and allows the remaining members of the department (Digital Members) to receive the online magazine allowing them access to the great education and informational articles as well as all the activities and happenings of the association. It is a great way to expand their knowledge base and gain a more global perspective. NOTE 1 You can add as many additional other or associate members to Department Memberships as you wish at the $57 rate, they will receive full membership benefits. NOTE 2 Digital Members do NOT accrue years of service in the organization or receive any other membership rights. Only the Chief and other Officer accrue years of service. Subscriber: Consider joining the growing number of departments who are subscribing all of their members to the printed version of the magazine. Some Chiefs use it to educate their entire department about everything going on. Some use it to help identify who their future leaders might be under the theory, if they are reading it, they are motivated and interested in promoting. At $25 for 6 issues it is a very small investment in your member s development with the possibility of huge returns! All Primary, Associate, and Other members receive our bi-monthly magazine as part of the membership. Department memberships receive the Digital Magazine.
