What is Kick Start funding? Kick Start funding is available to young people living in Radian homes who would like to learn and develop new skills. If you are aged 8 to 18 years old, you can apply for a grant of up to 300 towards activities such as sport, music, dance or training. The funding can be used to purchase equipment or pay for membership, courses, tuition, coaching or even travel expenses. What do I need to be aware of before applying? The grant we pay will usually be a part of the total cost only. It may be less than you ask for. Applicants will be split into one of three age categories: 8-11 years 12-15 years 16-18 years One application is permitted from or on behalf of the same young person a maximum of once per age category. We will not accept applications to repay debt. We will not pay for events that have already happened. We only accept applications for foreign travel if they are part of an educational or sporting trip. If successful, your funding will be paid directly to the supplier, organisation, club or individual providing training or tuition. Radian upholds the right to refuse applications and grants are not guaranteed. How to complete this form If you are under 15 please ask your parent or an adult supporter (e.g. youth worker, social worker, teacher etc.) to complete this form with you, supplying their details in the supporter section. If you are aged 16-18 please complete this form yourself. If you wish you can have assistance from your parent or adult supporter to help you with this. We may also need to contact the parent / adult supporter named in the application to request more information. In some cases we may ask for a supporting statement from the parent / adult supporter. Your application will then be considered by the Residents' Panel. Following the Panel s consideration, we will contact you to let you know the outcome of your application.
