Javier Colon was the first ever winner on NBC's The Voice Season 1. Mr. Carreras and Javier went to the same college, The HARTT School, at the University of Hartford. He was kind enough to come and perform a few songs on his guitar, work with our ensembles to help with presentation techniques (story telling) and performing with authenticity. He also stated for a Q&A session and pictures with the students. It was a fun night for everyone. CHS Newsletters go On-Line! Message from the Health Office A few friendly reminders: Flu season is underway, please remind your child the importance of good hand washing and to avoid sharing drinks, chapstick, etc. to minimize the spread of germs. As a reminder, if you received a vision or hearing referral for your child please be sure to schedule an appointment for your child with his/her private physician and return the appropriate paperwork to the nurse. Finally, it is extremely important for parents to be sure their contact numbers are updated in PowerSchool. The nurse is noting that many of the phone numbers listed are not in service or have recordings that state the voice mailbox is not set up, the person is not accepting calls right now or the voice mailbox is full. This prevents the nurse from leaving important messages. PLEASE be sure all numbers listed in PowerSchool are working numbers. If you need to make changes, please notify the main office or the school nurse. Thank you for your cooperation! Thank you for your cooperation!
