FEES AND REGISTRATION How much is the registration fee and what does it include? The normal registration fee for ICOM members before 1 September, 2010 is CNY 3,500*. Late registration fee after 1 September, 2010 is CNY 3,900*. However, it is always possible to register at the conference site in Shanghai. What is your cancellation policy? Any cancellation made by 30 September, 2010 will be refunded at 30% of the registration fee. No refund will be given for cancellations made after 30 September, 2010. ELIGIBILITY Can I attend if I am not an ICOM member? You can attend as an accompanying person even if you are not an ICOM member. However, to attend as a delegate with full access to the events, you must be a member of ICOM. Please check the ICOM website to find out how to become a member of ICOM. http://icom.museum Can I bring a companion who is not an ICOM member? Yes. Registration fees for accompanying persons are CNY 1,750 by 1 September, 2010 and CNY 1,950 on 1 September, 2010 or after. However, the accompanying person would only have limited access to the conference events. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Do you provide travel subsidies? Yes. ICOM awards travel grants to support the inclusive participation of its members, especially those residing in emerging countries and young participants. You may check with your respective National and International Committees for additional travel grants. What is the cost of living in Shanghai? A double room in a 3-star hotel costs around USD60 to USD80 per night. At a middle range restaurant, a meal would cost around USD10 to USD20. For a subway ticket, expect to pay around USD0.50 per trip.
