President s Letter November/December 2017 Dear Brother Panthers, As we have been taught at Power, I wish to remind you to be aware of those who are less fortunate during the Holiday season and throughout the year. Just to recap this past year s PMAAA activities, we had a very nice showing at the Mass of Remembrance with over 100 alumni and their families where we paid tribute to our deceased Faculty & Alumni. As always, Bishop Gerald Walsh 59 was the Main Celebrant. The St Patrick s Day Parade proved to be another great day for us as we marched up 5 th Ave showing our colors. The parade committee, again, presented us with an award for our orderly formation and professional attire. During the summer, some of us attended a concert by the Nassau County Pops Orchestra, conducted by our own Maestro Lou Pannaciulli 68. Watching Lou s mannerisms while conducting, was like watching Mr. Morra conduct the Power Band. Our annual Hall of Fame/Reunion dinner was held this past November 4 at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston Queens, NY. There were over 150 alumni and guests in attendance with a very strong showing of past Hall of Famers. Again, I wish to extend my congratulations to the 2017 Hall of Fame inductees: Mr. Brendan Malone, Mr. Edgidio Morra (posthumous), Steve Kallas 71, Tony Colon 70 and the 1972 Championship Basketball Team. I would also like to extend hearty congratulations to Steve Kallas 71, who was recently elected onto the Board of Trustees of the Power Memorial Academy Alumni Association. He has expressed a deep and enthusiastic interest to be part of the board. We look forward to working with him. I look forward to seeing you at the Mass of Remembrance, March 10, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Church and at the St. Patrick s Day Parade and Post Parade Party on Saturday March 17, 2018. I wish you all a Blessed Christmas Season and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Pro Christo Rege, Andrew Chick Pisani 70 President, PMAAA
