Conditions of Award: If the applicant or the applicant's parent/legal guardian is employed by USdish.com at the time of award, the student is no longer eligible and

will forfeit the scholarship. Awarding college scholarships to deserving high school seniors is one way the Foundation can do its part. Amount of Award: First place is a one time, non-renewable, minimum award of $3,000 will be paid to the school for which the recipient provides proof of enrollment. Additional awards may be made at the discretion of the judges and Board of Directors. Contact Christine Sossi at 561-263-4470 Illinois Institute of Technology Presidential Scholarship and Educational Initiative for Community College Students Inspired by a series of conversations with Chancellor Cheryl Hyman (IIT, CS 1996) of the City Colleges of Chicago and the presidents of the City Colleges of Chicago, in 2010 Illinois Institute of Technology announced a major new scholarship and educational outreach initiative the Presidential Scholarship. Through this initiative, IIT is determined to substantially redefine the pipeline initiatives within the fields of science and psychology, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as business and architecture hereafter referred to as STEM+ fields and to significantly engage students at every level throughout the educational community from K-12 through the community colleges to four-year institutions. Collaborating institutions and organizations are

committed to serve as a catalyst to support students toward their goals to conduct undergraduate research and earn advanced professional and academic degrees in STEM+ fields. In Fall 2010, IIT welcomed the first cohort of Presidential Scholars from the City Colleges of Chicago. Recognized by their sending communities as accomplished students with outstanding promise for future academic work at the undergraduate level and for the pursuit of advanced and professional degrees, and leadership within their community, 26 students from the City Colleges of Chicago as well as 28 students from Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in St. Lucia entered IIT as undergraduates supported by the Presidential Scholarship. Women who apply will be accepted based on financial need, and will be awarded a scholarship of between $3,000 and $5,000 per semester. This scholarship may only be used at The Florida A&M university. Cox memorial fund was established in 2006 to provide financial assistance to those attending a college or university. Alvin Cox spent more than 40 years as a public school teacher and advisor to students going through the college admissions process. Mr. Cox dedicated a large portion of his career to finding financial assistance for those who were unable to afford college tuition (please follow this link for more information on Mr. Alvin Cox). After his passing in 2006 his family decided to continue on with Mr. Cox's mission through the creation of the Alvin J. Cox Memorial Scholarship. Since 2006 we've

awarded 94 scholarship awards to students in seven countries. Current Scholarship for 2010 we are offering 15 individual scholarships, each worth $700 USD. Several smaller awards may also be issued. To be eligible for the scholarship you must either be enrolled, or have been accepted to enroll in college (minimum of 3 hours / one class) during the summer or fall semesters of 2010. High school students who will be enrolled in dual credit courses that require out of pocket expenses are also eligible to apply. There are no special eligibility requirements for the scholarship. All students may apply regardless of their race, nationality or financial status. We ask that each student who wishes to apply write a brief essay. The essay should be in size 12 font, and no longer than two pages single-spaced (four pages double). Scholarships are available for classes that lead to the 40-Hour School Age Certificate, the School Age Professional Certificate, the Director Credential, the Youth Development College Credit Certificate (30 college credits), the AS Degree in Human Services with a Youth Development Concentration, and select courses in the Bachelor s program in Supervision and Management.
