Welcome Words Dear colleagues and friends, It is our great pleasure and honor to invite you to the ISPCAN International Congress 2018 organized for the first time in Prague, Czech Republic. Prague is located in the very heart of Europe. It is the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic and has always been a landmark of European science and academic life. We believe that hosting this important event in Prague will inspire and boost the interest in our field in all parts of the world and will reinforce research and collaboration between all countries from around the world. In organizing the ISPCAN congress here in Prague, we see a great opportunity to discuss practical issues with leading world experts and to draw attention to the work being done by a wide range of professionals globally. Efficient knowledge transfer to the next generation is the key aspect we are focusing on; we hope to involve the younger generation in the Congress, giving young experts the chance to interact with international colleagues and spark cooperation and the creation of new projects. Call for Abstracts We are pleased to invite you to submit abstracts for the 22 International Congress on Child Abuse and Neglect. This year the congress theme focus on Child Protection in the Changing World. Presentation formats Interactive Poster A submission of an individual abstract which will be grouped thematically. Intended to present new research data or other scholarly work. A display area will be provided. It is expected that the author will be present at the poster location during the specified presentation time(s) to discuss the contents with the conference participants. data on related topics, with an overarching theme that is discussed by the chair. Submitter is to be the contact person for the whole symposium and its speakers. Individual abstracts are to be submitted with full details incl. the presentation title, mandatory structure. All abstract co-authors must state their full affiliation including their e-mail contacts. Media Theatre An open 60 minute session on a topic based on multimedia presentation (documentary, motion picture, video tape etc ). The media session organizer is expected to suggest both the video and the theme to be discussed by participants. A summary of a whole session is submitted. Up to 10 contributors can be submitted for one abstract, contributors are considered to be the active contributors and will be requested to be present onsite and participate in the session; all participating contributors must be mentioned. Authors will be asked to select their preferred presentation format. However, the Congress Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final determination regarding the presentation format of accepted abstracts. English is the official language of the Congress and all abstracts must be submitted and presented in English. All abstracts will be subject to a blind peer review by 2 members of the the Conference Scientific Committee. A Special Skill Building Sessions with the emphasis on core clinical skill development etc. will be incorporated into the programme as well. Oral Presentation A submission of an individual abstract intended to present new research data or other scholarly work. Multiple oral presentations will be grouped together into similar topic sessions. The time allocated for oral presentations is 20 minutes (15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion and questions). Free papers will be grouped together in a chaired session. Workshop A submission of an individual abstract for a workshop session of the length 90 minutes. A workshop is a session involving interactive learning and the dissemination of training and/or skills. Abstracts intended for workshops should indicate how interactive learning will be incorporated into the presentation. Please put a special emphasis on the interactive part. Symposium A symposium is a session lasting 60 to 90 minutes that includes three to five papers that address a common theme and includes at least three presenting authors. Submitter (considered to be the chair of the session) submits the overall session description first and 3-5 individual abstracts, which represent the concrete presentations forming the session. It should present new research Abstract Submission Deadline: February 14, 2018. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered.
Destination Venue Prague Congress Centre 5. kvetna 65 140 21 Prague 4 Czech Republic The ISPCAN 2018 will be held in the Prague Congress Centre, a purpose made venue with easy accessibility to many hotels in near vicinity. With the underground station (Vysehrad) located within just 1 minute walking distance from the venue, the very heart of the city can be reached within minutes. Visa and accessibility Visitors from non-schengen countries must possess a passport valid for at least a three month stay. Participants are advised to locate their respective diplomatic missions or embassy. Czech offices aren t available in all countries. In case there is no office available in your country of residence, it is necessary to either apply at an embassy representing the CZ or to travel to an assigned embassy in another country. It is not possible to obtain a visa upon arrival to Prague airport. Please note that the visa procedure can take up to one month and the applicant needs to personally attend the interview and applies himself/herself. It is therefore strongly advised to start the application procedure as soon as possible. The Conference Secretariat provides the invitation letter (if registered and fully paid), however, in several cases, this may be found insufficient by the consulate worker. In such case, official invitation letter by the Czech Foreign Police office is requested.
